Does CET tease you with comps they know you won't use?

If I'm staying overnight in AC I usually don't book a room until the last minute. But for next weekend I booked it a couple weeks ago. Since then I've been getting all these offers via email for various CET casinos in AC that are only good for 1 day or during a few days before my booked stay. I get tons of regular mail from CET, probably every other day there's something in the mailbox. But I've noticed when I book a trip out a couple weeks I start getting generous, but last-minute, email offers for things like freeplay or dining only good for days right before my trip.

Is this just my mind playing tricks on me or do they really send you generous offers they figure you won't use just to make them look better? If that is the case, I wonder why not just book rooms for several weeks out, hope that triggers some good offers and actually use them, and then just cancel the room. Right?

No way do I believe they send offers you will not use. No point in that.

What they are doing is trying to get you in for more nights. The big GOAL is to get you into the casino, and then leave all your money there.

My issue with CET (and almost all other Vegas comps) is that they are show short ranged. We generally have to book @ 6 months out to go to Vegas. Most comp offers usually only go out for a few weeks. Sometimes we get lucky and we can rebook when an offer actually lines up on our travel dates, most times they do not line up. I wish they would send out their offers 6-12 months out so that we can plan around them.

CET always does that to me on my Vegas trips. I book about three months out and about a month later I get all these offers for slot tournaments and such 2-3 days before I get there or two or three days after. Always happens.
