I do this every trip, and it seems a lot of folks do. You have a list of "to dos" while on vacation in Vegas, and can't wait to get to it!

Then, you hit the casino, and that breakfast at LUX becomes a doughnut and coffee because you can't stop playing slots. The show you wanted to see this trip goes by the wayside, because you couldn't stop gambling long enough to go get tickets. The casinos you wanted to check out for the first time, became an entire trip in your home casino.

    You know what I'm saying.

I have another laundry list for the next trip, but........... :evillaugh

october I brought my girl for the 1st time and end of march im bringing her for her second time but also bringing a friend for his 1st time and he was just like her, had all these things they want to do...I said I have no problem with any of that but you may not get to do everything between gambling, drinking and partying on the 4-5 day trip...she found out quick enough, my friend will also...

I'm a planner for sure. This upcoming trip will be my seventh to Vegas and each time I've had a list (10 or so) of things we want to do. Last time we did pretty well and did about half of them.

Just another reason to have to schedule another trip!

I make non-gaming plans to keep myself from gambling too much! Bought 2 show tickets in advance just for that purpose. Also, i browse menus online for certain items and "plan" to hit those spots. But, when it comes to making plans to just "visit" a casino..no way! Anything can happen those days!

There are a few places I HAVE to eat every trip, but other than that, other plans often go out the window. It's funny, I know this trip I expected to do 85% of my gambling at Harrahs, as that's been the case most trips lately, but instead I found myself almost exclusively playing at The Linq and the Cromwell.

Phase 1: First date with Vegas. (love at first sight) - Every minute planned- a little slot play, a lot of sightseeing, casino hopping, shows, dinners, etc.- executed to perfection.
Phase 2: The engagement and honeymoon - more planning - bigger bankroll, nicer hotels, expensive dinners, shows, some sightseeing, checking out off strip casinos, a little more gambling.
Phase 3: The marriage - still planning - less execution - staying at our favorite properties, a missed show, less casino hopping, no big deal, been there done that - and much more gambling (slots).
Phase 4: Who are we kidding? We are here to gamble - our 'plans' consist of: gambling, use all of our comps, more gambling, squeeze in a couple of nice meals, more gambling, see a show(maybe), more gambling, sleep(as little as possible), more gambling.

LOL Of course! I don't even bother to plan anything anymore. I will make a plan to do one nice dinner or something specific on some day of my trip, but I never over-book myself because I know I can't be trusted.

I'll go one further. I plan to do a Vegas trip with my friends and the whole thing flies out the window. Way too often lately. I think the last three trips.

I always bring different friends and have a itinerary. I am the driver and play host My whole goal is too make it fun with plenty of o

ptions for them. If we are enjoying ourselves we continue our debauchary. If we need change I am ready to with a fun

next move. The itinerary is just a rough draft to keep everyone somewhat coherent in case someone stumble off for a few hours. Each morning we have a tentative plan, but it is always subject to change, and usually does.

    All the damn time!

That is why, after we didn't even scratch the surface on our maiden voyage, we ended up going back four times in five months.

Even now, after many trips, I still get distracted. I enjoy the spontaneity though. I have a list saved in my phone with shit I want to do and I get to check a couple off each trip but most times I am rearranging my schedule.

Sometimes I planned on sleeping early to wake up early and do things and then a heater started...and we know what not to do on a heater...

Every time! But, that's just Vegas! So much to see and do, so little time. I try to stick with three things each trip. If we do more, great. If not, we always have a fantastic time when we're there. This year's plan:

    1. Spa day at Canyon Ranch
    2. Visit at least one new casino on the strip (hoping for Aria and Cosmo)
    3. See a show (We have yet to go see one!)

I guess there are Type A and Type B people in the "real world" that exists everywhere but Vegas. But, once you get off the plane, somehow it's like a force takes over and we morph into a hybrid of our normal selves. I make daily itineraries in the planning stages only to tick off about one thing every day once I am actually in Vegas. But, that's what we do to psyche ourselves up, right? As a solo tripper, I have so much flexibility that doesn't exist in my "normal life" back home. So, it becomes overwhelming sometimes to have too much freedom from structure. When I do travel to Vegas with my wife, seems like we plan the day out for each next day and stick to it more.

I always had detailed plans for day1, day2, day3 etc.
Of course, I threw the whole thing out of the window once I landed in McCarran.
Then I picked it up when it's time to plan the next trip.

I usually have a list of about five things I want to do like day trips, new dining experiences, shows etc. and I'll usually get two or three done. No worries though, Vegas isn't going anywhere and I know I'll eventually get to them. I make it a point to do at least one day trip each trip though and I have yet to be disappointed.

Twice I've redeemed MyVegas rewards for the MB shark tank and twice I failed to use them before I left.

I'm like this also. But we still don't do more than half of what we've planned. Would you believe we 've planned to visit City Center ever since it opened and we STILL haven't been there? LOL!

But it's always a good idea to plan something, just don't stress about not being able to keep to the schedule. There's always next time.

I'm usually a mid-strip guy. Finally went to Mandalay Bay for the first time last July after planning to go there for years. Also planned to go to Plaza when I'm on Fremont...never been yet. Went to Aria a while back after talking about it for a long time..ended up not liking it though, so sometimes it doesn't pay off to follow throuh.
