I'm getting this question on FaceBook when I add folks from VMB?

    Anyone now,
    why does FB ask?
does it matter how I answer?

    Thanks,
    Ty

Yea if you answer no, you will get that person's account banned.

I will politely disagree with the banned comment.
(If that was true I would have heard about by now. And not seeing some folks on FB.)

shifter is correct, but it takes more than a single incident and they will not be banned at first they will have a 7-10 day restriction put on their ability to "friend" people and to send private messages to people they are not friends with

if it is an individual you want to add you need to click yes if it is just some random person you have no clue who they are make your own decision

I've also heard about just not answering it (ignoring it) and all should still be fine.

You should always answer YES otherwise the person might end up in FB jail if multiple people say NO. 7 days the first time, 14 days the second. During this time you cannot send friend requests out.

It seems to me that I have ignored the question in the past if I didn't know the person. I figure that most of the time they just have me confused with someone else, which is entirely possible, since I don't have a picture of myself as my profile pic.

I'll be clicking yes in the future, don't want to create trouble for anyone.

I just ignore it. Facedick knows way too much about me as it is.

I have nearly 900 "friends" on my FB myVegas account (I created a new account so that my personal acct wouldn't get junked up), and I *ALWAYS* do not answer the question. It's an optional question; specifically FB is looking for the "no" answers so that they can cut down on spam.

Exactly I didn't mean instantly but just that a no answer creates problems for the person.
