I will be playing at Bellagio and MGM (but not staying there).

If I'm playing a few hours of $100/hand BJ, would the pit boss be able to give me buffet comps? I'm wondering if they can, or would they just expect us to use express comps, which are so minimal.

    Thanks

A couple years ago, I was playing $25 - $50/hand for a couple hours at Aria and upon me asking, a pit supervisor comped me 2 buffets. Express comps were not used; it was strictly a discretionary comp. I would have to assume though that YMMV.

I always saw pit bosses buying cigars and cigarettes for players. Have not seen it recently, but maybe I am just missing it.

Not sure about Bellagio/MGM, but I get offered buffet passes while playing craps at Encore all the time. (I probably average $150-250 in action, including odds.)

It does seem to be a dying practice, though.

I know for a FACT that at Aria and Bellagio, they comp Cigarettes and Cigars if you're betting $100 a hand at BJ.

Just ask the pitboss, they will write up a ticket, hand it to the cocktail waitress and she'll bring you over whatever you need.

    ive posted about this alot.

first if your staying at any mlif property then no you must charge to your.

if not then yes if your play warrents its and thats the big if.

bellagio at a 100$ they wont blink as people tip more than that at mgm over a few hours you might get a free buffet as long as your not a mgm prop guest and its kinda dead.

also if you play warrents its ,ive had them deliver room service from aria to the high limit room all comped just tipped the roomservice when i played at aria.

at 100 $ a hand you better at the lower end properties if all you want is buffett

    I find this incredibly sad.
Downtown, playing $100/hand blackjack for several hours would get you the best steak dinner available at that casino.
Buffets? You'll get that comped for $25 play at the Nugget and for $10 play at most of the other downtown properties.

Cigarettes? That'll take $25/hand play, or a lot of $10/hand hours.
    (Which I find kind of funny - I can play $10 - $30 a hand for 2-3 hours and get a $30 meal comp...but NOT a $10 pack of cigarettes. Go figure.)

Finally have the room booked! Look for me Feb 21-23

Not true. I have had $75 Monte Cristo cigars comped by the pitboss on numerous occasions at $100 BJ.

I was playing $5 Spanish 21 at Buffalo Bills in Primm one drunken night. Was up about $2000 and as I was coloring up, the pit boss walked over and said why don't you take these 2 free buffet passes and I'm going to have a couple bottles of champagne sent up to your room.

Only time in my life I've been treated like any sort of high roller. Drank the bubbly, stuffed myself at the buffet and took Primm's $2k up the road to blow in Vegas.

At B Connected places playing table games it seems like you must ask to get anything worthy.

I've been comped cigarettes for $25/hand blackjack at venetian, cosmopolitan, and the M. The M will comp pretty much anything you ask for (I've had the pit boss comp buffets, a day pass to the pool, and a day pass to the spa). This is all in the past year or two. It definitely doesn't hurt to ask.

I was at the Grand earlier this year and played about $35-50 dollar BJ hands and was comped 4 buffets in 2 days. Granted I played about 7-8 hours per day but I was given 4 buffets upon asking and a nice bit off of the room when we left (wasn't compted before hand because another non-player booked it for a double bachelor party). The grand is very good with food comps even during play, whereas TR properties I have found out aren't as good.. (With respect to rooms its reversed)

    Discretionary comps

Paperposter is correct about MLife props: They WILL give discretionary buffet comps to rated players IF you are not staying at one of their props (they can tell when they enter your card into the computer....in which case you'll likely get the "charge to your room" answer). Just be realistic. A $25 bettor should wait 3-4 hours before asking.

Golden Nugget is the EASIEST place to get food from the pit IMHO. Just don't abuse it and ruin it for everyone:evillaugh. They are VERY generous.
