    Hey guys,

Right now I'm booked in at The Falmingo for July 21-26 (Go Room) with rates of $40 weekdays and $110 for Friday night - using the rate calendar. There were some free rooms at Harrahs and Rio - but I'd prefer Flamingo.

It was a good rate so I booked it.

I've read that July is HOT! GREAT, I love the hot and the pools!

But with Vegas being so hot are there better rates to be found as it gets closer to July (in general). I know that rates move all around ect, ect. But i have never been to Vegas in July and so am not sure what a fair, good and great deal would be.

    Thanks all!

Yes. Rates usually get very cheap for July and August as it is simply too hot for most people. Keep checking.

That's kind of what I was thinking but - as a note for all you, as I've learnt from people here - when you see an acceptable rate...BOOK!

In the summer there are a lot of activities going on, especially on the strip. I've noticed that it can drop drastically, but also skyrocket. Again, that seems to vary by the location though IMO.

They used to but more people are picking Vegas for a summer vacay so not like they used to. Also, because of the pool, Flamingo is one of the few strip hotels where the average rate actually goes up and not down over time. I don't know if you can expect a better weekend rate for that hotel. But if you decide to you want to save and the Flamingo rate doesn't improve, the Rio is a place that can have a hard time drawing customers so there is a good chance you will see a comp rate there in the future.

That rate seems great to me. Not much gets cheaper than $40 a night, and you have the updated room, also on any Friday or Saturday any time of year it's rare to find anything under $100 a night. You can always keep checking though...

I'd say the slowest time is right after 4th of July.

But I wouldn't worry about your rate! I think you did good.
