I play many versions of VP but this isn't about me. My girl plays and loves DW. Does anyone know of a good trainer? I use Win
poker but I can't seem to find if it will work for DW.

She won't convert over to the JOB side so she really needs some help with her holds and I can't help. I gave it a go for a couple of hours last night at Rio using JOB perfect play and lost my ass. She on the other hand was running wild with it and did better than I did.

I think with a good (real) trainer she will do way better.

Did you really play deuces wild with JoB strategy and never deviated from that??? Like holding high cards? If so, Loveman must have had a huge grin on his face.

If you have the full version of winpoker, you should be able to play dueces on it, but I think the trial version only allows 9/6 JoB.

As far as free trainers go, I would suggest either the Wizard of Odds video poker game:
    http://wizardofodds.com/play/video-poker/

Another free trainer is frugal video poker which you can get here.

    http://www.wolfvideopoker.com/FVP.htm

Keep in mind both of these trainers will assume you will be playing "full pay" deuces wild (25/15/9/5/3/2 100.76% max) by default. Note in deuces wild games payouts of the wild royal to a flush are subject to change.

The strategy for this game is here:

    http://wizardofodds.com/games/video-poker/strategy/a-1-b-44-c-1-d-0-d-1-d-2-d-2-d-3-d-5-d-9-d-15-d-25-d-200-d-800/

Problem is you find this game down the street at Palms. Rio would never offer this game. So if you plan to keep playing at Rio, then you need to adjust the paytables in the linked trainers (which they allow you to do).

Rio's most common games on the floor will likely be one of two variants.

    25/16/13/4/3/2 = 96.77% aka "Colorado Deuces"

The strategy for this version is here:
    http://wizardofodds.com/games/video-poker/strategy/a-1-b-44-c-1-d-0-d-1-d-2-d-2-d-3-d-4-d-13-d-16-d-25-d-200-d-800/

The other version likely on the floor pays the full house 4 and the flush 3, which makes the strategy change a decent amount.

    20/12/10/4/4/3 = 97.58%

    And here is its strategy:
    http://wizardofodds.com/games/video-poker/strategy/a-1-b-44-c-1-d-0-d-1-d-2-d-3-d-4-d-4-d-10-d-12-d-20-d-200-d-800/

Note I said on the floor. Although I've never verified at Rio, most CET bars on the strip make deuces wild their WORST game at 25/15/10/4/3/2 = 94.82%. So I would recommend avoiding that paytable altogether.

Yeah the wizard's app will be solid, but you're out of luck with that one if you're using windows or android.

Yep. I'm disappointed the wizard doesn't have an android version.

A computer with a touch screen gives the most realistic training, especially if you play some music in the background to simulate the distractions of a casino. I have used Winpoker (paid version) for a very long time. It works with every version of Windows and supports a touch screen. It also permits you to customize the game to the actual pay schedule you will find in the casino. That's important, although playing a machine that actually HAS a good pay table is more important. Rio doesn't have ANY DW games worth playing.
