I have no personal experience there, but it has good reviews on TA! Enjoy!

I stayed there a couple years ago and enjoyed it.

Full apartment. living room, balconey, bedroom.

Full kithcen with all the stuff, pots and pans and utensils and all.

I cooked a couple meals every day. it was fun to have a good cheap meal to lok forward to every evening when I came home drunk.

The use to have free breakfast like cereal and hard boiled eggs and the like as well as free beer and wine in the afternoons.

    wifi is included as well.

You will see families there because its really a family type place. its very much like a regular apartment complex.

I would certainly stay there again.

a good tip for getting to mgm is to walk towards it through the hooters parking lot. Go to the right corner of hooters lot away from the strip, not the left where everyone else is going but the right.

There is a crosswalk there that dumps you right in the valet of mgm.

if you take the route towards the strip you go up half a block, cross and come back half a block.

We have stayed there a number of times as it's part of a timeshare I own in (I know, I know...but we learned to make timeshares work for us). We have always enjoyed the "apartment" like quality of it and the nearness of the strip. My wife likes to go to sleep earlier than me so I can stay up and watch TV in a separate room and not bother her. Oh, also the last room we had had a DVD player in case you want to take a movie or 2....

On one of our stays, we stayed there and went to see the Rolling Stones at MGM. After the concert, we were already back in our room while people were still waiting at the valet for their cars...

We have always found the staff friendly and helpful, the site clean and orderly. Our usual issue was that as the timeshare part, we were always in the back buildings away from a quick walk to Tropicana St (Ave?).

I will say that $49 is a great rate for what you get. Enjoy!

Me and my wife stayed at The Desert Rose on our first two visits to Vegas, and we really enjoyed it there, the apartments are nice and roomy and the staff very friendly and helpful.
The light breakfast is very nice as well but it can get a bit busy at breakfast time, it is a nice place if you don't want to stay in a hotel/ casino.
