I will be going through Atlantic City and plan on using my comps at the end of May for 2 free nights (never been before) I have comped rooms at Harrah's, and a few other properties (all except caesars) I think I will go with Harrah's but my question is if I book now is there some sort of Deposit/Hold or anything that I will be charged or can I just book the comped room without paying a dime?

    Thanks!

I will be mostly going to play poker for 1-2 days if anyone else has any suggestions besides harrah's let me know!

I have never been charged a deposit on my credit card when booking comped rooms from CET.
But they will probably expect a credit card when you check in that they will put some kind of hold on .

Harrah's is a very nice place in AC, but it is in the Marina area and most of the casinos are on the boardwalk. There is a shuttle that runs to the boardwalk area though. In regards to walking to other casinos, I don't think there are others in walking distance (Borgata is the next closest to Harrahs, but I don't think you can walk there). I lucked out when I was in AC - I was able to get Caesars comped, so I stayed there, but a location on boardwalk can be a plus. Hope this helps.

I have been charged a 'hold' for the phone / tv movies in the past. I have also requested that the phone and tv be locked and they didn't charge me when I requested that.

If the room will be fully comped for your stay you can book now and they won't charge you a deposit.

Sometimes they do a "temp hold" on a credit card.

For the life of me, I do not understand why this is an issue. Please help me understand.

Even they want a $200 deposit, who cares?

I was curious more than anything As I rarely get comp rooms and rarely stay at CET properties

I only have one credit card so that's why I was making sure so I would make sure to leave enough on there for the whole trip plus the deposits because I Like to use my credit card when I travel to make it easier to account for everything

Thanks for all the help though I really appreciate it and I'm looking Ito other hotels which would be more of a convenience than harrah's...how's
    Ballys?

They require a credit card to book the reservation, but in vegas at least (and Windsor), there's no deposit if its comped.

Harrahs in AC will charge u a total of $13 a night in taxes and tourism fees on a comped room even though the state fee is $5 a night. But, it isn't a resort fee....lol

There is no deposit when checking in, but they will put a "hold" on funds when you do so. My last 3 comped trips to Paris casino in Vegas, they put a $300 charge on hold until after I got home.

There is no charge or hold when you make the fully comped reservations, but they still ask for a valid CC anyway.

Because, believe it or not, not everyone on the planet has the same credit limit as you.

Upon check in they have always asked me if I would like to leave my CC on file to charge things to the room or not? I always say no, and have never had a hold placed on my card while in LV.

I always have comped rooms, but dont think I roll high enought to have meals and such erased. Could be shooting myself in the foot though, but I prefer just to do the speedy check out and get on with my life when the trip is done.
