I'm wondering if some of you are aware that the new Delano charges $20 per day for valet? Well....they do. I'm very disappointed to find out about this as we have stayed at thehotel a few times and enjoyed it. We were going to try the new Delano, but after finding out about the valet a few weeks ago I was really turned off. Thoughts?

Most hotels everywhere charge for valet. It is not surprising that an LV hotel would try this--if it sticks it will become the norm. For now--just valet your car at Mandalay Bay and walk over to Delano.

Who cares... why don't you just self park for FREE!
To be honest... I knew there has always been valet at THEHotel but I had no idea it WASN'T any less than $20 to begin with.

I just stayed at the Hyatt in San Diego and SELF PARKING was $28 a day.

Most hotels in other cities charge for parking, but the times I have driven, I've never been charged for valet parking in Vegas.

Parking at hotels in Chicago and New York costs $50-70/night. I am surprised The big hotels on the Strip haven't started charging before now.

Just a small correction, the valet charge is only for leaving the car overnight. It is also waived for Platinum and NOIR.

I don't know what some of you are talking about. Every Vegas casino I've ever been to has NEVER charged me valet. Although I always tip no matter what. And as for -J-, I care. Because when I take my parents to Vegas with us (which is 90% of the time) , my mom and dad can't walk a long ass distance from the parking garage, which is usually how far the self parking is. So yes, I care.

As far as San Diego goes and the parking fees, I can care less. That's why I would never stay in a hotel in my own home town. They don't give a shit about us locals here. At least Vegas caters more to thier locals. Not here.

The Delano does not have a casino, so nothing will change for you.

Wow, this thing got derailed in a hurry. lol

No-charge valet has been a Vegas perk perhaps as long as So Cal has been streaming in via car. If Delano valet is in the same spot as it was under the other silly name for that tower, being over parked long has been a problem. I can think of gobs of times we went to MB and used that valet simply because it was easier and more convenient. And adding a new profit center? Well, Vegas is capitalism perfected. Over time I imagine this will become the norm.

As for other towns, what seem like usurious parking prices are standard fare. It's like baggage fees and resort fees and this charge and that surcharge, just another thing of which travelers need to be aware so they can make informed decisions about actual costs.

    P.S. Love using valet.

Don't matter casino or hotel. I've never seen a fee. And yes gilly, it's just a hotel and they charge anyway. Not worth it IMO.

Just because you have not seen it does not mean that it doesn't exist. Both the Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental charge a fee for valet. The Delano is much more along those lines than a traditional casino hotel.

Thinking about it, I'm not bothered as much by it since Mandalay Bay is where I would go because it has the casino. I just won't stay at the Delano.
