    My Trip Report

I decided to do a trip summary instead of a day by day report.

Pre-trip warm up: Prior to heading to Vegas I made a weekend stop in Chicago to visit family. Plane landed and I headed directly from O’Hare to nearby Rivers Casino for a short pre Vegas warm up session. My friend and I agreed we would stay for only 2 hours. I played Mississippi Stud and after about an hour walked away up $100. Next was 3 Card Poker. I played pretty much even until about 5 minutes before I had to leave. Hit a straight flush betting green chips and ended up leaving Rivers up $1200. Added that to my Vegas bankroll and enjoyed the rest of the weekend with my family.

    Vegas-

Gambling- Did much better than on my July trip. Overall lost about 60% of my gambling budget. (Sadly that's a win for me.) Hit a straight flush on Crazy 4 Poker. Hit a flush and a full house on Let it Ride. Also hit a straight flush on the LIR 3 card bonus. Played a lot of slots. Hit a hand pay for $1200 on a $1 old school reel machine. Hit a $1300 hand pay on a .25 dragonfly 7 machine. Had a line hit on a bonus trigger for $1000 on a Whales of Cash .01 machine. Then the bonus paid a whopping $157. Lol. Had a lot of good play from the slots at MB. Also played slots for a few hours at Bellagio. At Bellagio I started with $200. Eventually had my TITO up to $2000. Finally cashed out with around $500. (At least I didn't give it all back!)

Based on numbers from my host my theo calculated out to tier credits earned/33.8. Close to the 32.8 I've seen before on VMB.

Delano – loved the look of the lobby and common areas. The rooms are pretty bland. I was in a panoramic suite. All the way at the end of the hall. Great view of the strip and the airport. I had read a lot about the rock hard pillow issue prior to my trip. I assumed people were exaggerating. Holy crap was I wrong! The pillows are awful. Hard as rock! The housekeeping lady gladly got me a softer replacement. I asked her why it was taking so long to replace the pillows. She told me they had all been replaced once already but are still too hard and are still generating numerous complaints. All the Delano staff I encountered were pleasant and helpful. I'm sure I'll end up staying there again.

CET fail – I was really looking forward to trying High Card Flush. Knowing it’s not available at any MLIfe property I signed up online for a TR card and made my way down to Ceasars. I can't remember the last time I was in a CET property. Anyway, wandered through Ceasars and found the TR desk. Got my shiny new TR card (after enduring a brief, but annoying, sales pitch for a TR Visa card) and found a HCF table. Several people were playing and several spots were open. As I got nearer I realized there was a large reserved sign covering the open spots. The dealer confirmed that this was the only HCF table open and said the spots were not being held for anyone in particular. She called the pit person over and asked if I could play at one of the spots. The pit person looked at me and said (very rudely) “if we were gonna let you play we wouldn't have the spots reserved, would we?” I was pretty shocked. The dealer looked shocked. A simple “I'm sorry. I have to hold the spots” would have been so much more appropriate. The pit person’s attitude and tone were really awful and unnecessary. I thanked the dealer for checking, asked where the nearest exit to LVB was, and left. Don't think I'll bother with Caesars again.

I decided to try Cromwell next. Walked in. First 5 or 6 tables were open. All blackjack. Rest of the tables were closed. (11am, weekday). Left and started towards Bally’s. Got to the bridge between Bellagio/ceasars/Bally’s and decided the walk to Bally’s wasn't worth it. Headed to Bellagio and played there instead. No High Card Flush for me. What a waste of time. But at least I got some walking in.

Food – warning: I'm not much of a foodie. RM Seafood at MB. Loved it. Had the Crab Duo. Crab Cake and Alaskan King Crab (de-shelled upon request. Loved that. ) Really very good. Asparagus served with a “free range chicken egg.” Asparagus was very good. I didn't get why the egg was necessary. It didn't have much flavor and just ended up getting yoke all over the asparagus. Again, I'm not a foodie. Had the pineapple upside down cake/ice cream for dessert. Excellent. Overall great food and great service.

    MB buffet, breakfast- Meh. Typical.

Bellagio buffet, lunch – Wow, this was really good, which I wasn't expecting. Lots of variety. Particularly liked the mini cheeseburger sliders. Shrimp was really fresh. Great rotisserie chicken. Mini key lime pie dessert was really good.

Johnny Rocket chocolate shake – needed an ice cream fix. Wanted to check out the food court at MB. Made the LONG trek from casino to food court. Got the shake. Loved it. Made the LONG trek back to the casino. Figured I burned off most of the calories walking all that way! Food court had several fast food restaurants. It was shiny and clean. Good addition to MB for those wanting a quick meal ( and some exercise).

That’s all I have. Let me know if you have any questions. I can post pictures of the Delano room if anyone is interested. I had a great time. Setting up the next trip now. In the mean time I'll continue to get my Vegas fix at VMB!

    Nice read! Thanks!

I stayed at Delano last week and really liked the feel of the place. I get the pillow thing, but (and maybe this was just in our room) the pillows in the front were perfectly fine, but the ones in the back were quite stiff. Together they could be rough if ones sleeps or even watches TV like that. I just got rid of the back ones and slept fantastic on the front ones. I would definitely stay there again, though I would probably go for the next size up (had the King Suite).

And great job on the wins!!

Great trip summary! Sucks about how the Ceasars pit treated you, but glad you had fun elsewhere!

...thanks for the report. Lots of complaints here and elsewhere about the pillow situation at Delano. Would be rather amusing to see the check in line on a busy Friday night with 10-20 people carrying around their pillows from home... Always amazes me that such an "obvious" issue is not noted and corrected BEFORE a multi-million dollar project is opened to the public...

Love the comment about burning off the milkshake calories with the walk to and from the casino. That sounds like my kind of logic.:poke:

Wauw, still lost 60% of your bankroll despite of some pretty nice wins. The machines were brutal after all. The Delano rooms looks nice (but maybe a little cold because of all the light colours). I read more and more complaints about rude staff members at CET properties lately. Could this be a `trend´?

Anyhow, thanks for the great TR and pics!!

Yeah, I'm surprised by that response to say the least. Should have went to Flamingo across the street to play it. That place wouldn't have anyone so privileged to lock down the table...lol
