I am going to be staying 1 night comp in one of the following:

Flamingo: Fab, Fab Executive, or Studio
    P-Ho: Hip
    Harrah's: Mardi Gras or Carnaval
    Linq: Deluxe

Is there a must stay, must avoid? Looking for clean, decent shower, good AC (going first week of Sept.), comfortable bed, and somewhat quiet. I usually stay at Bally's, but want to try somewhere different, plus comped is nice.

if you want clean and quiet harrahs is your place. Planet Hollywood is not quiet, flamingo is not clean. Personally Harrahs would be my last choice but for what your looking for it might be your first.

PH is the best of them. It's hard to judge "quiet". It all depends on who's in the rooms next to you and across from you and above you and below you :) PH is more of a party place but then again you could be in a room next to drunken idiots anywhere. Harrah's reminds me too much of a Holiday Inn (which of course it used to be).

For one night, I'd stay at PH out of those option.

If quiet is what you want - Harrahs, PH, Linq, and Flamingo. PH is the best hotel but can be loud.

PH has the largest rooms and we didn't hear any noise. Loved the big soaker tub after walking all day.

I'll be at Harrah's for a night next week, so I'll let you know about that. Never stayed at the Linq, but it was recently renovated.

PH was loud in the casino- but room wise it was great- plenty of space and clean! plus you have plenty of options to eat at miracle mile mall!

Just saw a newly remodeled room in Harrah's Carnival Tower. Very nice and modern. Very clean. My friend stayed there for 4 nights and said noise wasn't a problem. The only issue is there was no safe in the room. When he complained, he was told they are planning on putting them in all the rooms eventually.

Do you have the Bally's Jubliee rooms available on comp? If so, those rooms take the cake. Then comes Linq (but their rooms are tiny). Personally, I did not like my room at Harrahs (unless you get a Carnival South Room, I would avoid); I would only stay at a Go Room at the Flamingo (though some people have had good experiences with their Fab rooms); and I've never stayed at pH but I love their casino!

OP explicitly stated that they want to stay somewhere other than Ballys.

My choice would probably be the Linq, then Harrahs if you got a remodeled room (haven't stayed in one but they look nice).

Flamingo is pretty dumpy these days, and I'm not a fan of PH, though maybe I'd give one of their remodeled rooms a shot at some point.

If it is just you, go LINQ. Nicest rooms of the choices (perhaps not as nice as Harrahs newly renovated ones, but cannot recommend Harrahs in Sept. )but small (bathroom built for one!)--be sure to ask for a quiet room so not overlooking Carnaval Court. Casino definitely quieter than PH but I have enjoyed myself playing VP at all the bars.
PH is awesome--I love the music in the casino & rooms have always been quiet. Rooms are bigger but not as recently renovated.
Not a Flamingo fan, especially if GO room isn't a choice.
Harrahs has some nicely remodeled rooms but that A/C sucks in the summer--it is motion activated so it can get pretty warm at night.

I would stay at PHO. Have stayed there a few times. The Casino may be somewhat loud due to the younger inhabitants, but you can go to the Casino next door for more tranquility. But PHO is your best bet overall.

I keep hearing comments about loud. Are folks mixing a loud casino with loud hotel rooms?

I concur. Heck, even the Indigo Tower rooms at Ballys aren't bad; they're clean, spacious, and relatively quiet.

I totally concur about Bally's. Just with Bally's not comped (haven't given TR any love for a while), I thought I would try another hotel just for fun.

Yea, sorry missed the part about Ballys. I'd say Linq because it hits your requirements and has a pool, a fun casino, good restaurant options, and attracts a good crowd.

Loved the PHO vibe when I stayed there, but if you're interested in the pool, there's is one of the worst in Vegas imo.

What don't you like about the pool?

They have a weird setup. There's two small pools with no room around them, and a huge concrete wasteland between the two.

I gotcha.. well aside from the awkward setup, does the pool have a pretty lively crowd most of the time?
