The only thing not going for this motel is it's location which is slightly seedy and attracts truck drivers to the property. And possibly that it's smoky...just like all casinos. But it was manageable for me as a solo female.

But if you are someone who has stayed at a motel before in any other city, this room is quite fine. The bed and pillows are super comfy. One of the most comfortable beds I have encountered in my many travels. The typical features of the room--TV, phone, iron, chairs, tables--are all in good shape. The room also comes with a fridge and coffeemaker. The housekeeping keeps it clean.

On most websites, the room is usually $22-24/night on weekdays and $35-40/night on weekend nights, which saves you a pretty penny. It's walking distance to Excalibur if you don't mind wide streets to cross or the local bus is literally across the street by a gas station, Wendy's, Mcdonalds and Burger King. It is also literally across the street from In-and-out burger.

The resort fee here is $6/night and it actually has value. It comes with a free big deluxe breakfast every morning at the on-site Denny's (which is open 24 hours) during the hours of 6am and 9am. You will have access to wifi.

I enjoy the little casino here. 50cent roulette and $5 BJ with loose rules. I love the pair square side bet on the BJ table. The slots are fair. It's like staying in any other town on the cheap except now you have a 24-hr chain restaurant and playable casino attached. I have a lot of fun here and the staff are very friendly from registration to dealers to waitresses. This property gets good reviews.

It also has a little convenience store on the property in addition to a laundry area, pool and jacuzzi. I see regular people here, friends and family. Very down-to-earth place.

thanks for the review sco. So, this is where you are staying now that the other strip hotels got pricey? :poke: just kidding!

I visited the place a few months ago, it looked like a regular day's inn with a small casino inside. The grounds and buildings looked like a regular motel. Thanks for the info on the resort fee, I was wondering what we got with that $6 fee. Breakfast sounds about right for the $6 fee. Does it also include free internet? I like the laundry area too, can wash my clothes if I stay longer than a week.

At night the place was dimly lit IMHO and could be a little smokey if there are smokers playing.

Yes free internet comes with the fee! It's a cool little dive.

Many years ago our flight got postponed til the next day.

There was a big fight in town and everything was booked. The airline much to my dismay ended up getting us a room at the Wild Wild West.

Would not be my first choice or even worth a revisit but it was not near as horrible as I expected it to be.

Everyone was pleasant, room was clean, it was relatively quiet, it could of been much worse from what I am reading the the worst rooms thread.

I just got back from a week at Days Inn Wild West Gambling Hall and I agree with everything sco5123 said. Not a bad stay, nice location, good wifi, lots of security, clean, though the shower had some problems - a few cracks and stains. The sink and some other furnishings had been renovated, but not the shower for some reason.

And just to point it out, the free breakfast is only 3 selections (Pancakes w/eggs and bacon, grits/oatmeal, or a cheese omelette with hashbrowns). That was fine with me, but I heard lots of complaints in Dennys from other people staying at the motel. Of course you could always order off the regular menu and pay for it.

Sco, I do miss the old-independent coffee shop they used to have. I also like their little gift shop, prices are pretty reasonable. On a positive note, friendly ladies near the bus stop always seem to be happy to wave at gentlemen driving on Tropicana.

I didn't mind the casino. My GF and I played roulette there after a lunch at In N Out, and they had 25 cent chips at the time. The dealers were friendly, and the casino was decent enough. I will add that using the bus stop across the street can be dicey at times, especially after dark. For those accustomed to Deuce/SDX rides, waiting for the 201 is a bit different.

I have stayed there, and it wasn't bad at all. It is a motel, not a hotel, so your door and windows face outside. You do hear the occasional person walking by your room. The casino is pretty smoky, but that doesn't bug me at all. For the money, you can't complain, and I would stay again, as SCO mentioned, the bed is very comfortable.

Can anyone here compare it to the Motel 6 off Ellis Island? I would think the location would be better as it is just a block off Bally's and so it's easy to get to the center of it all.

I was happy to read sco's review because so many of the reviews were so negative and I have never been there. I won't fee so bad if I need to bunk in someday for some reason.
