First I want to thank everyone for reading, this day we had a great dinner and the best view in Vegas, it may be worth the read..........Tomorrow will finish it up, if I ever get around to it, we went to LOVE! Day 6: Thursday June 15th. My husband was up at 4:30 to take his Dad to the airport for a 6:45am flight. He was kind enough to let me sleep, though I had told him to wake me u p and I would go with him. He came and went without me even hearing him!! We woke up about 9am and decided to have Breakfast at the Bellagio Café. I had the Frittata, he had pancakes, we both had coffee, dh had a sunsplash and I had a Bellagio Cocktail (which I didn’t care for!). Now the Bellagio Café was pricey for breakfast, with tip it was $68, but it was good and worth it! We really like their breakfasts. Strangely enough when we went, there was no line! We ate at the Café twice once for a snack earlier in the week and once for breakfast both times no line, we had line passes but didn’t need them, it was great! I think the first time must have been right after check in……..I knew I would forget something!!! After Breakfast DH and I went over to Barbary Coast and played a little bit, won a bit and then headed back to Bellagio. DH to the pool me to the VP Bar to see Diane my favorite Bartender, and my favorite machine #72 (not sure what the whole number was, but number 72 was a good machine to me). I put $20 in the machine, these are $1 machines but I haven’t hit the point where I am comfortable playing full coin on the dollar machines yet. No worries, I haven’t hit a Royal yet. I did end up putting another $10 in and losing it over the course of the hour I was there, and finally put a $5 in, well, I turned that $5 into $115 and cashed out. I was ready to leave but didn’t want to play the $115 down, so after cashing out, I put another $20 in. I got this up to $50 and cashed it, out. I think put another $5 and played some more getting that up to $35, my original buy in………I decided to stop there. I noticed I had gotten almost 350 points on my card from that little run! By this time DH called and said he was back in the room, so I went up to meet him! We had dinner plans and the afternoon was half way behind us, so I decided now would be a good time to get ready for dinner and head out. We watched a fountain show from the room and took our time getting ready, then went down to the Fontana again. Another quick run of some money, we each had a cocktail and ended up cashing out $5 ahead. We then got the car and headed to Mandalay Bay. We used the West Valet and entered at Rumjungle. Walking through the Coral Reef Lounge we noticed Paragon, who used to play at Fontana, was playing there. They are very good. We have them on our list to go back and see. I miss them at Fontana, I spent many evenings playing VP while listening to them in the past. We made our way through the casino and found the elevator for the Foundation Room, they checked our reservation and sent us up on the elevator. This elevator only has one stop and my ears popped going up, so I knew the view would be awesome! I didn’t know what to expect, but when we got off the elevator it was very dark, with a statue of a Buddha type thing in front of us. The Maitre D’ took our name and asked if we wanted to be seated or did we want to go in the lounge. We chose the lounge, which had a red almost burgundy fabric on the wall, velvet couches and chairs and a fireplace….It was very dark and very cool. I have some pictures if I can figure out to post them I will. We both had Martini’s. Dale had a Grey Goose Martini and I had the Key Lime Pie Martini, it was good but very different. We ordered a second drink and headed to the Table. The dining room was dark with olive green velvet chairs, but the wow the view…….We were in the back against a window overlooking the mountains, while the front had a strip view. I had taken some strip view pictures from the lounge and the view from the lounge was better than the dining room view. For dinner we started out with a flatbread that had garlic chicken, provolone cheese and roasted tomatoes. The flavor was fantastic, We then had salad, I had mixed greens with a balsamic vinaigrette and cucumbers which DH had a mix of red lettuce and shredded romaine with walnuts, asiago cheese, and a garlic vinaigrette both were excellent. For entrees it was chicken with a porcini mushroom cream sauce and risotto gnocchi, the veg was mushrooms and onions. DH had a strip steak that was served with some kind of potato and French cut green beans. The steak was so tender you could cut it with a dinner knife! We shared our meals and both were perfect, at about this time we decided it was the best meal we have ever had. Half way through the meal we ordered desert which was a warm chocolate cake with a molten center, served with a scoop of ice cream. We ended up eating it in the lounge. We paid our bill for dinner which included the app, salads, entrees desserts and 3 drinks for me, 1 for dh and 2 glasses of wine for him before we went to the lounge. The Bill was $212 before tip. We thought this was pretty good considering the drinks took up over $60 worth of the bill! At the bar I had a chocolate martini while DH had a glass of Archery Summit Pinot Noir. The worst part of the meal believe it or not was dessert, it was anti-climatic. Though it was good, it wasn’t great! We hung out in the lounge for a little bit longer and took in the view. There really is nothing like this view…….50 something floors up, where the MANDALAY BAY sign is, looking down the strip. It doesn’t get any better than this!! We decided it was now time to go gambling, it was after 10 and we were full and happy!! It was a great meal, and we had a great time. It will be one remember for a long time! So we walked out of there over $300 lighter than when we went in, with big smiles on our face, knowing it was worth every penny and the experience was fantastic. The bartender was great at mixing drinks, he was originally from New Orleans and transferred in from the house of blues there. Our server was from Atlanta and really knew her menu. She was very impressive. Her helper Kenny was wicked funny. We commented on the food when he pulled the plates, the plates were cleaned off and we told him we didn’t like it jokingly, he turned and with a straight face said “I don’t know why we call him a chef†and rolled his eyes, well, we about died laughing, especially after he go nervous about what he said! Maybe it is being the business for so long, knowing how servers talk etc, it was just very funny! If you are ever given the chance to eat at the Foundation Room, I highly recommend it!! It was fabulous, everything about it wonderful! I don’t have a single bad thing to say about it. After leaving MB with invite back from the bartender, we headed back to Silverton. We played an hour or so, winning some money and headed back to Bellagio. DH headed to bed, I headed to the Fontana. Shawn the bartender offered me a lemon drop, at this point I opted for a bottle of the Fiji water. I sat down and began playing, it was busy but my machine was open. I was feeding it, and feeding it, and getting nothing!! The kid next to me told me it was kicking my butt., I couldn’t believe he actually said that. Oh well, I informed him, I was aware of that fact, but it had been so good to me earlier I had faith. My faith paid off, because no sooner did Mr. Concerned about my Bankroll, leave then I hit a few 4oaks and got myself back into the black. Cashed out over $100 a went to bed. It was the perfect ending to the perfect day.
