If I'm playing at a 3x4x5x $5 table and I roll a 6 or 8 I can Lay 25 bucks which pays 5-6 so if I'm thinking right I'll get paid $20 and change....am I better off laying an even 24 to get paid an even dollar amount ??? Or will the Casinos let you bump up your bet to meet the even dollar pay out 30 bucks maybe ?? that would pay an even $25. I'm just using this as an example the change really doesn't bother me at the $25 odds level but if I'm betting really big it could really effect our bank roll...Thoughts ???

You are better off with $30 odds, which pays you $25. Casinos don't have change so you will be shorted if you only play $25 odds. If you're playing the don't, you can bet up the amount it would take to pay the 3-4-5X amount of your flat bet. So, on such a table, the max odds on a $5 don't pass is $30 which will pay $15 on a 4 or 10, $20 on a 5 or 9, and $25 on a 5 or 6. The easiest way to think of it is, its just the reverse of the payouts on the odds on the do.

I found Odds on the don't super confusing, until I wrote down the correct odds bets for a couple multiples (1x, 2x, etc) and a couple denominations I play ($5, $10, etc). Once I did that I used it as a reference while playing. A couple sessions of that and now I can calculate them easily.

But as Tater said, max odds for the don't on a 3x4x5x table is super easy, it's $30 for any point.

Not being snarky, but I've always found asking the dealers what the optimal odds were when having too much tequila found they were always very happy to help. They actually and try and help people proactively. Then every once in a while someone doesn't listen and they really don't like it. They don't like to see you get screwed.
