I am sure a lot of people have received offers for free gifts just for showing up at a casino. This is a specific offer for AC, but I am sure other places have had the same one. I was sent an offer for a free Black & Decker toaster oven for checking in at a local casino. As most know the products offered are usually not top of the line but still may be useable or gift able. Well, upon checking the item out on Amazon I read many reviews that this item is way beyond what I would even consider owning. How can anyone or corporation give an item away that has caught fire numerous times? Is there no liability since it is a gift? Just food for thought or a rant depending on how you wish to view it.

The actual toaster oven may not be the one pictured. In addition, there is already a decent risk of toaster ovens catching fire. I don't know how much I would rely on Amazon reviews to determine that there is a product safety problem when it could be a user error. I mean, Amazon is still selling this thing, right?

The real danger compwise is picking up the thing, not playing and having a zero trip. I've dinged my ADT too many times doing that in the past.

Apparently the problem is not big enough such that Amazon stopped selling them. ALL products have some problems. Just a matter of how bad. Not saying I would buy it either. It just is what it is. And no, the casino, like Amazon would not be liable.

As to even picking up this stuff. Yes, it does kill your ADT if you low play, or even no play. We also learned that the hard way.

even worse is they are giving that product away when they know someone will try and use it while in the bath tub to "save time" while getting ready in the morning

and probably when they are trying to roast a whole chicken or cook a package of bacon in the thing and it catches fire and they have to dunk it in the water to put the fire out :poke:
