Can you buy chips at the cashier with a credit card? I have seen threads on here about markers, credit lines and wiring money ahead. What made me think of the credit card route is seeing people pick up chips at the cage for poker tournaments, etc., but I never paid attention to how they paid for them.

At my semi local casino I have seen the terminals at the cage for doing cash advances, but I never thought to ask the teller if they could be used for direct chip purchases.

My gut feeling is to say no. The credit card companies charge a percentage for their services. If you get a credit card advance, for example, you'd pay the additional fees.

    Nope.

Would be great, but nope. Cash only. You can of course get cash via your credit card at a very high cost.

As to folks getting cash advances.... you can then give them some/all of the cash back and get chips. Of you can go to table and give them cash for chips.

Thanks for the replies. That is what I expected, but thought I would ask anyway.

With all the credit card frauds out there the casinos would lose millions allowing it.
This is happened the casinos would have to make up even more stupid fees to cover the losses which go on top the existing ones like Resort Fees and paid parking. :wink2:
