    Hello Vegas World,

Heading over to The Strip end of March (Friday-Monday) and looking for some good craps play. I usually use the $10 tables but was interested in some $5 play. I know Casino Royale might be an option over the weekend. Any others to check out?

    Thanks,

    Rollthembones

I'm a fellow craps player but I usually stay away from the strip for craps because I like $5 tables (pass line/odds/place all inside numbers) . I did play some $5 craps at Bally's in September and saw a $5 table at Harrah's the same trip. Those were on weekday afternoons. Casino Royale but good luck getting on the table. .

Vic's spot on, Casino Royale can be hard to find a table, but at least one table there is always $5.. Most of the CET properties offer $5, at least in the mornings afternoons. I don't seek out $5, so this might not be a complete list, but I have seen it within the last few months at Harrahs, Flamingo, LINQ, Paris, and I think even Cromwell was sporting a $5 table last November. I have played $5 at O'Sheas and Margaritaville before, but last trip they were always $10, and they don't open until the afternoon. V/P supposedly now has a $5 table games pit at Venetian outside the sportsbook. I never looked at that table last trip (it was only open in the evenings), but based on the crowds there I wouldn't be surprised if it was $5. But once again, good look getting on there. I never checked it out because although I love craps, I limit my dice at V/P, I never seem to have luck there for some reason with craps.

If you're willing to play $10, you can find those about anyplace, although some will go to all $15+ once evening hits or on weekends. I can't speak to MGM properties, as I don't play there, but I can't imagine that Excal, Luxor and Monte Carlo wouldn't have some $5 tables running.

In the mornings (11:00AM or earlier) most non-high end casinos will have a $5 table going, especially the CET joints. Last trip in September, I played or saw a $5 table in every CET casino I went in before noon, including Cromwell. Afternoons and evenings everything went to $10 or more.

If you want to play during those times, the only reliable $5 tables will be found at Casino Royale and Venetian, which has a $5 table but only 2x odds, which if you're a place bettor, isn't the worst thing in the world, but pretty crappy if you're a come bettor. You might have a chance at finding some $5 tables in the evening other places if you're there on a weekday, during a slow period, but anything lower than $10 is getting to be a rare sight during prime time.

I've seen $5 dollar tables at Harrah's, Excalibur, Linq, O'sheas and Casino Royale in the evenings, though they tend to get super crowded because there's usually only one $5 table. Easier to find a spot during the day.

WATCH OUT. CET shorts the payoffs on the field and the horn bets. If you play these, you don't want to be at a CET table.

I also noticed a $5 crap table at the Magaritaville area (in the Flamingo) the last time I was there. This was in the afternoon though so not sure if the minimum goes up in the evening. wasn't crowded at all either but this was in the early afternoon.

No farther than going from Harrahs to Bally's; than from Caesars to GoldCoast.

Actually it is. Walking distance from Harrahs to ballys is 0.5 miles. Walking distance from Ceasars to Gold Coast is 1.3 miles. Just saying!

Oh, forgot to mention, Ellis Island has $5 craps too. It's a very short walk from Bally's.

    I don't recall ever seeing a $5 table at V/P

Casino Royale is still down to one table and it's usually packed. Early morning or real late at night is your best bet there

Mirage has had some $5 tables but it really depends on the pit bosses at the time. My buddy and I played on a $5 table there a couple years ago on Super Bowl weekend at 10am Saturday. But other times I've been there and it was $10-15 tables at 9am on a dead summer Wednesday.

Box is right about the other spots and Maikiki is right about Margaritaville

Another place to check is TI

There is only one $5 table at V/P, its right outside the sportsbook in V. They took out those machines and put in a "low limit" tables section next to the new bacc. stadium. Its only been there since November, and as far as I know its only ever open in the evenings. I'm yet to play at that specific table (I normally prefer 10-15$ limit), but last november it was open and always packed. The dealers there looked miserable, lol.

Ohhh yeah that's right - I saw that table on one of the blogs and thought it was a good idea. That way I could sports bet and shoot dice at the same time

FYI, On SB weekend during the day Saturday and after the game Sunday, both craps tables at CR were $10 minimum. Sunday night, there were two of us that had $500-$2,500 in bets on the table. A shooter went on a heater and each number that came up they were paying us an average of $1-2k (others at the table were playing lower stakes, but winning plenty.)

I've always heard that the suits at CR get anxious when players start winning big and that's exactly what happened. Two suits were on and off the phones constantly....... at one point during the roll, they brought in a whole new crew of dealers (not a shift change). They also took an extra long time between dice rolls. And they stopped the game for a few minutes to deliver fresh chips......only $2-4K worth.....didn't seem like a typical fill.

One of the new dealers (Mike) told us he was not a cooler, but was there to help us.

The shooter stayed calm and rolled 8-10 times after the new crew came before sevening out.
