    My Trip Report

I haven't written a trip report in a while so I thought I'd write one for this trip. I was in Las Vegas from Saturday the 15th to Saturday the 22nd. It's been a long tradition/habit of going from Saturday to Saturday. I go 4 weeks out of the year and always go the week before XMass.

    Saturday the 15th

Left Austin in the late morning and had a 2 hour layover in Dallas. Decided to get a foot massage during the layover, very overpriced as you'd expect being in the airport, but still very nice. The plane to Las Vegas took off on time which was very nice (doesn't happen much for me). I am a terrible flyer so I don't eat when I fly, asked the flight attendant if she would just give my lunch to someone that looked like they needed it in cargo class. She said she couldn't do that. I do this every time I fly. It's exactly at 50% whether they'll do it. (I've found this slightly fascinating so I have full statistics. If anyone cares BA is 100% - they are the only ones but I only have a few data points for them). I looked back and there was this little girl in the first row. So I asked the attendant if she could just make an exception and give it to the little girl. Surprisingly the attendant smiled and nodded. The flight went rather smooth since I slept through most of it (I'm fairly drugged up when I fly which helps!).

Coming down the escalator I see my name, or at least a good part of it, always makes me smile, it really is the little things that count. I say 'hi' to the limo driver and tell him I'm going to check in. (I know I could check in the very nice lounge, but I'm just going to be standing around waiting for luggage anyway.) Nobody in line at check-in, and they are always so nice there. They say my room isn't ready yet, for 2:45pm, that seems a little strange. Guess there are still a lot of cowboys since it is the last night of the rodeo. Come out from check-in and find my limo guy waiting by the luggage, it just started coming out. One of the very few nice things about first class in AA is that my luggage will be down first, and it is. Once I'm in the limo I know I'm in Vegas, and I start to unwind from the trip, ahhhh, so nice.

I roll my very heavy luggage to the VIP lounge (yes I over pack, just in case I'm 'stuck' here until summer I'm all set). They say my room is being cleaned and tell be to go ahead to the room. I get to the room and there is a maid and what appears to be the supervisor just finishing up. They leave and I take off my travel clothes and unpack my suitcase. I've stopped bothering trying to look for bed bugs. If the MGM Grand has them such is life. I freshen up and go out into the casino. I'm very hungry and have a tradition of going over to Gallagher's at NYNY for dinner my first night. I still have about 40 minutes before the restaurant will open and I see an empty craps table, nirvana! I put money on the world and craps which has already confused the dealers (for those of you that play craps, I'm using the world as a money proposition bet and the any craps to hedge my pass line). I did a yo set and hit the acey-duecy, parlay the world - good start. Then proceed to hit midnight followed by yo followed by aces. The stick would add up the numbers and get them wrong every time the boxman would correct him. The last aces the boxman said "what is that?" and the poor stick kid just said "I don't know", it was very funny (I'm thinking he hates my betting the world and craps). I'm up over $700 dollars and I haven't even set my first point. My buddy and I practiced this many hundreds of hours and my buddy doesn't come in until tomorrow morning, can't wait to tell him about my start! I finally set a point and played for about 90 minutes ending up about $1k. Most of that from that first world parlayed over and over.

Had a nice dinner at Gallagher's, was surprised at how busy it was for being so early. People generally don't eat at 5pm in Vegas. The bruchetta was good as usual, as was the filet. Since I hadn't eaten all day I was now pretty full. I decided to stroll over to the Aria by going through the MC. I was going to stop and play some craps at the MC but both tables looked fairly busy. I made my way over to the Aria and found an empty craps table, ah Nirvana again! World bets weren't paying off but I was having some good runs, 30+ on my first, 20+ on my second. A few people joined the table which was ok with me as I needed some breaks. However, all 3 passed it back to me. Funny thing is at a lot of places the boxman will be really nasty because they are scared I'm cheating somehow. I do set the dice and try to 'gentle drop' the wall which makes most nervous. But in this case the boxman was rooting for me. It was a nice change of pace. I proceeded to have a few more 20+ with everyone passing the dice. On my last roll I was in the 40s when the table filled up with everyone throwing cash on the table. Really threw me off, hate when then do that! I really had the numbers pumped up. But I sevened out and decided to run away. I was up over 3K. Just a few more numbers and that would have been doubled or more, isn't that always the way! The dealers were sorry to see me go, I was tipping them across and leaving them up. First night and I'm up over 4K. YES! I had a pretty giddy walk back to the MGM. Along the way I texted one of my favorite girls to see if I could contribute to her college fund. Luckily she was available. I got back to the MGM and still had about an hour before my company arrived, the craps tables were pretty busy, so I went over to the Lion Progressive. Nobody was on it, so I put a few hundred in, and pulled the lever, then pushed the button, and again. OK, I don't understand people that like slots. Maybe because I'm in the computer industry and spend a lot of time in front of one. I just find nothing fun about it. Luckily 2 British girls came over so I got to talk to them while I pushed the button over and over, hoping I would either win or lose quickly. The $200 would go down to 50 then back up to $200 then back down then up. Since the girls were being so nice when it got back down to about $100 dollars I just told them to play. I watched them for a while then decided to go get ready for my company.

I went and met the young lady, a nicely proportioned brunette. I always flattered that she remembers me so well. I'm pretty tired from the long day but manage to contribute to her college fund half the night.

    Sunday

I forgot my buddy (J) was arriving at 8:30am. It's such a bizarre thing for him to get in so early. He ended up texting me when he landed, I was a tad disoriented and still had a very pretty young lady with me. I figured I had some time since he had just landed so I enjoyed the company for a while longer. Eventually got up and showered with some help. It was a very nice start to my trip. Made 4K last night, spend 2K on company, well worth it.

It was a tad warm in my room so I called engineering to come fix my AC. I figured it was in the 40s outside the room should be pretty cold.

Found my buddy at a craps table in his customary spot. The table was about half full but I managed to nudge myself into my throwing spot. Being a full table means I break down and eventually bet with all the yahoos throwing since I have no patience, so I was down about $500 after a few hours. I was ready for lunch but it was my throw. I had a decent throw and made back about $200. Now it was my buddies turn and he had a really nice hand, I wasn't counting but he threw for about 30 mins and I was now up about $500. My buddy ended up about $250. Time for lunch!

Went to the food court for some pizza. I really like the pizza there (when it is fresh). After lunch we went and played craps up until dinner. No monster hands, but some decent ones for both me and J. I was up almost $800 dollars for the session and J was up about $500. We went and had dinner at Craftsteak. I had the filet which was very good. Also had the paprika fries. Those are the best! Had their roles for dessert, they are just so sweat I hate to eat them before the steak, ok I had a couple. Funny how the filet here is so different from the one last night. They are both delicious, just taste different. After dinner back to the craps table. They are still fairly full so we went and played some Pai Gow Poker for a while. Was about even for almost an hour when the dealer went on a rush. After about 30 minutes more I was down about $400 so I yelled "Uncle" and we headed over to a mostly empty craps table. We got off to a rough start and I was down about $500 (half of my buy-in), when J has a great World come-out (remember we're still trying to make money on a come out yo set). He hit 1-2, yo, midnight, aces, and 1-2, I am now up over $900 and kicking myself for not being more aggressive. I was playing a little scared and mostly double pressing instead of parlaying! We had several good hands and treaded water on the rest. I, of course, lost money betting on the yahoos, my type A personality doesn't have the patience to wait until we get the dice again. It was finally time to quit for the nice after a good hand, I was up almost 2K and J was up about 1K.

On the way back to the room there was a very pretty red head who obviously needed a contribution to her college fund. Even though I was beat I spent about 3 hours entertaining her and made a size able contribution. She turned out to be a lot of fun, but had to send her on her way.

    Monday

Still a tad warm, called engineering to come fix my AC again. Them just leaving chocolates saying they were sorry for the inconvenience didn't really cool the room.

I finally looked through the bag my host left, same stuff as usual, just way more nuts this time. Someone packed it strangely. At least this time there were no chocolate covered strawberries, I always end up throwing half of them away, just too much of a waste so I asked her to please stop.

Got up and found J on the craps table, he was playing for $5 and the table was $10, he was grandfathered in about an hour ago he said. The dice came around to me and I had a monster hand. Threw for about 40 minutes. Then my buddy had a nice 20 minute hand at it was time for lunch. First session of the day and I was up around 3K. J was up about $600, he was playing scared since it was my first hand of the day. DOH!.

Went to the food court and had the pizza again. Yum. The tables looked busy after lunch, so we headed over to MB. We had a table to ourselves, YAY!. Unfortunately we were both cold. I was down to about $200 and J was down to about $100 when a bunch of people joined us, by this time we welcomed the company as we were sucking. I betted modestly on the new comers and they had some ok hands. Then it came back to me and I had a decent hand, first one since we got to the table. Guess I needed the break. Then my buddy had a good hand. Then the following two yahoos have great hands, glad I wasn't playing the dark side on them. I was now up $200. I was pretty happy considering how far down I was. We played for a few more hours just treading water. I ended up about $150 and J was up about $300. Our friend M was do in soon so we headed over to Luxor figuring we'd meet M for dinner at Tenders. There were 2 tables open at the Luxor and one was empty so we headed over to the empty one. Those tables are aircraft carriers. They are so long they don't really care if you reach the end. I started and had a pretty good hand, love being up after the first hand. Then J had a nice hand. Then I had a great hand. Then J starts on a monster run. In the middle of the run a host comes by and introduces herself and asks if there is anything we need. I wasn't paying attention to her much as we were still rolling. She went a way and my friend continued to roll. I thought we were going to be late getting to Tenders but alas he finally sevened out. I was up almost 3.5K and J was up over 1K. The boxman asked where we were going and I said we were going to dinner at Tenders. He said to wait at Tenders and he would send the host over.

We went over to Tenders where our buddy (M) met us and stood around for a few minutes waiting for this host to show up. Finally I said, let's eat. So we got seated and got our drinks. The host comes in and finds us and says she put $200 each on our cards for dinner. Then she left. It was very abrupt, didn't get a chance to really talk to her, but oh well. Dinner was now on her (not that we ever pay for it anyway). So J, M, and I had a very nice dinner. Always like Tender's. I of course got the filet, was yummy as usual. There fries are ok, not as good as the paprika fries over at Craft. We had a few expensive bottles of wine which while mostly wasted on my mixed drink pallet, was still good.

After dinner we decided to risk our skill again at Luxor and give them a chance to win back some of their money. I started with a good hand, then J had another great hand, followed by a good hand from M. First 3 hands and already up 1/2 my stack. So I come out really aggressive and have an okay hand then J has a great hand. M then starts to just wallop the outside. Not sure how many 10s he had but I had a few yellow on it. He finally sevened out and I was up another 3.5K. J made almost 2K and M was up about $500. We had a few more mediocre hands when we decided run away. It was one of our best hauls from the Luxor. We headed over to the MGM and got on a fairly crowded table. We played for a few more hours and I lost a couple hundred when we decided to call it a night.

On the way back to the room I was approached by last night's red head. She was waiting for me (so she said), isn't that nice. After a brief negotiation to contribute to her college fund for the entire night we headed back to the room. I spent several hours playing connect her freckles before we went to sleep.

    Tuesday

I woke up with a very pretty warm body next to mine, nothing beats that. I played 'find the freckles' for a few more hours before we took a nice long shower. I offered her breakfast but she declined. I think the lovely girl was walking funny :)

I called engineering again, they said they'd fix the AC (I'm pretty skeptical, so I left them directions on what I thought was wrong).

I saw I had several text messages on my phone from both my buddies indicating that they were already at the craps table. I got to the craps table but someone was in my favored position. We played for about an hour then went and played some BJ until lunch. Made almost $500 on BJ which is very unusual for me. I do win/progressive just to keep it interesting, but had a few good runs. So it was a good time to go to lunch. We went to the food court and, you guessed it, had some pizza.

After lunch we headed back to the craps tables. There was an empty one so we got into positions and had a pretty good start then the table filled up. For the next 5 or so hours we played the dark side on all the yahoos and the pass side when we were throwing. We made okay money on the darkside and had some nice runs when we were throwing. Nothing huge but it slowly added up. It was time to meet our host for dinner and I ended up about 1.5K. J was up about $750. And M was up over 2K (he was playing heavy on the darkside when all the yahoos were throwing).

I went and freshened up for dinner and we met our host at Craftsteak. Between those sweet rolls and the paprika fries I was fairly full, but the filet was good as usual. Our host is a sweet young girl who we entertained with our witty booze inspired banter for the better part of 2+ hours. I'm not one for long dinners so this one was about as long as I can sit. (She informed us about the termination of a bunch of hosts at MGM - glad she wasn't one - seems like they decided to clean house.)

After dinner we went back to the craps table. Found one that only had a few people on it. Stayed just about even for the rest of the night. I ended up $50. On my way to my room there was a very lonely blond girl who needed a substantial contribution to her college fund. We spent about a few hours playing, but I sent her on her way, frankly she wasn't very good at her craft.

    Wednesday

Thought about calling engineering, but I figure they did not have the ability to fix the AC. And I had more than enough engineering chocolates.

I got up fairly early and my buddies didn't appear to be up yet. The craps table (only 1 was open) was busy, so I headed over to play some poker. I bought in a 1-2 no limit game. After a few hands I was surprised that I couldn't identify a single pro at the table, maybe a little early for them. There were a few locals but the rest were tourists. I was playing fairly tight when I got pocket aces. Another fellow had pocket queens that he couldn't put down, which was silly since an ace come up on a flop and another on the river. Yep, quad aces. Doubled my money. I took out all of another kids money when he couldn't put down a hand with an ace in it A-5 (they always think any ace is good). He bought in again and made a few bucks, then I took it from him all again (he did have a slightly better hand then last time A-J suited. Still don't have a clue as to why they can't put down a hand even if they don't catch anything. I played for a while longer when I got a text from J. I made almost 700$ on a 1-2 table. I was happy with that.

We played about 30 minutes of Pai Gai Poker before M finally joined us. We went over to the Burger Bar and has some yummy burgers. It seems my favorite waitresses either don't work here anymore or I just happened to miss them. Still good food even without the eye candy.

We went over to the Mandalay Bay and got on a table with someone cursing away. I asked the girl next to me and she said he was just a jerk. J stood next to the guy and seemed to warm up to him to the point where he let J switch spots with him to throw. Turns out the guy was just on bad losing streak and couldn't handle it. The boxgirl was very friendly (I remember her from several trips) and was most appreciative when we bet the bonus numbers for them. First hand I rolled AllTall and got them some bonus money, then next hand J rolled AllSmall and got them even more money. We played for a little while longer then things looked like they were turning so we left. I was up about $500 and J and M where both up about $300. We made the grumbling guy some money so he seemed to be in a better mood, at least he wasn't cursing anymore.

We went over to NYNY and hit those craps tables until dinner. Nothing exciting to report. I ended up down about $25 and J was up around $100 and M was up around 1K (he kept hitting prop bets, sometimes he's like the rainman when it comes to predicting numbers).

We had dinner at Gallagher's and given the dozens of times I've eaten there, it was the worst meal I ever had there. The bruschetta was not good, was like they forgot how to prepare the tomatoes and my steak wasn't it's normal best. J and M said theirs were all good. Oh well.

We went back to the MGM and played craps for the evening. Nothing great to report. I ended up down about $300, J was down about $100 and M was about even.

On the way back to my room 2 young girls asked if I would like to donate to their college funds. How could I refuse? I spent the better part of the evening with the 2 young ladies. About 4am I sent them on their way so I could get some sleep.

    Thursday

Woke up about 9 and had no message from the guys. They must have been up late.

Called engineering and told them the AC was now smelling like burning wires.

I went and played poker on a full table. A bunch of kids at the table and a few tourists. I figured pretty easy pickings. Turns out one of the tourists knew what he was doing. They kids kept buying in and could neither read anyone nor know what a good hand was (I'm sure they were just online players). After about 2 hours of me and the tourist who knew what he was doing splitting the rest of the tables money. I walked away about $1200 up and my new buddy was up even more. Pretty good for 2 hours at a 1-2 no-limit table.

Went and had some pizza as usual then played craps for a few hours. It was very ugly. It was M's turns to throw, so I went all in with a clean rack. I even had nickels on the bonus money. Not only did he go on a tear, he hit all the numbers! That was an awesome bonus! Went from an empty rack to 2.5K. (For those that aren't familiar with the bonus bet, MGM casinos licensed a 'bonus craps' bet, whereby if you hit All Small (2-6), All Tall (8-12), or all of them they pay a bunch (35 for 1, 35 for 1, 176 for 1) - it's not a 'good' bet given the odds, but it can be a fun one). We ran out of there after that hand. We walked over to Aria to try out the craps there.

Craps at Aria is usually $15 at the cheapest (which I like but J doesn't). However, being the slowest week of the year most of them were at $10. We had a choppy start and then the table filled up. With all the yahoos throwing M and myself played the dark side hard and made some serious money (J just didn't bet when they were throwing). The three of us were kind of choppy on our throws, the tables there are definitely at a different height. Most of the yahoos crapped themselves out and then M had a good hand, right after M I had even a better hand, then right after me J had a great hand (well over 30 mins). I never did get chocolate on a table (well at Aria the chocolate are white??). But I did get a few yellows out. I was up about 4.5K and it was time for dinner. We had never eaten there, so we went up to Jean Georges Steakhouse. I had a caprese salad (they call it something else) that was pretty good and of course the filet. They serve it with a pesto sauce (on the side) that was very good. They also give you 4 other sauces, none of which I found that great. The steak was fine by itself. We had some sort of chocolate molten thing for dessert which as much as I like chocolate cake, I'm just not found of the molten thing. I'm sure it was fine if you into that kind of thing. We did have some very expensive brandy which while fairly wasted on me was still pretty tasty.

After dinner we walked back to the MGM, I was the only one that either didn't mind carrying a jacket or didn't have a need to prove my mucho. So while my buddies were freezing their body parts off I was a lot warmer (I was still a tad cold even with the jacket). I go to Vegas this time every year and I don't remember it being this cold - it was very windy (30s at night).

We didn't feel like standing so we went and played blackjack. I went through about $1500 fairly fast and said I'm not playing anymore, so my buddy gave me $500 in chips (I still had $500 worth on the table), but he wanted to stay longer (he was trying to hit on the girl next to him). So I said I would play for him and didn't lose a single hand with his chips (a few pushes but no loses). His $500 quickly turned to about $3500 when I said I'm done (he was NOT going to pick her up no matter if we stayed until the Mayan Apocalypse - which was supposed to happen in a few hours). I gave him the $3500 and told him it was all his, he didn't want it, so M took it gave me back the $1500 I lost and took $1500 for himself and tipped the dealer $500. I just shook my head and walked to the cage. M tips $25 a drink, so while not shocked I'm still surprised when he does these things.

We went and played Pai Gow poker, but after about an hour I was bored, so I bid my buddies adieu. I looked on my phone and had some text messages from the girls last night asking if I wanted a repeat. Also had a text from the red head early in the week who wanted a repeat. Alas I was too tired.

Well, I thought I was too tired, I almost made it back before making eye contact with a tall immaculately dressed woman. My first impression was that no way is this a working girl. My second impression was that I don't have THAT kind of money. I did that slow walk pretending to show interest in whatever slot machine she was looking at and did the appropriate introductions. I pretty much indicated I could contribute to a modest college fund but not someone's next Mercedes. We came to a decent rate for the first 2 hours with an additional 2 hour buy. Needless to say not only did I do the 2 hour 'buy up' I did an extra 2. While most girls (even the working ones) really only know the 'basics'. The woman knew her stuff.

    Friday

I got up about 10am and looked around the room at the mess. I usually leave the maids 5$ for the day. Between the room and the bathroom I left a $50 (it was that bad). I saw I had a text from J saying he was ill and was going back to bed.

The AC still wasn't working but at this point I didn't care. I also didn't want engineering to see the room before the cleaning crew had a chance to make it presentable.

I met Mike on the Lion Progressive machine figuring if anyone would hit it he would. He was on the machine for about an hour and had the "I'm bored out of my mind stare". So I watched him for about another hour when finally I had him cash out so we could go eat. He said he started with $200. We cashed out at $300 plus, he said it was at zero once (so he actually put in 201$ - hate your last to hit with only $2 in it). While I watched him it went down to under $50 a few times and broke $500 a few times but not may Lions showed up. Never even caught triple 7. Lots of bars though, a few triples, lots of doubles and many singles. I still don't understand slot players. I need at least some control or perceived control of the outcome!

I got some pizza and M got some oriental dish at the food court. After lunch I sat while M played roulette. Betting a few hundred dollars for each spin of this wheel seemed crazy to me, but he managed to keep about even for a while. Some guy came over and put $25 on a number. Boom, number hits. I asked M why he just didn't do that instead :) M then went on a massive losing streak because he bets a bunch of things but almost always has a few hundred on black. A whole streak of reds came up wiping him out.

We went to the craps table and since it was Friday I play a little heavier. I asked them to move the table up to $25 which they did. The players that were there were very confused even after they were told they were grandfathered in. They didn't seem to like me playing the dark side on them (they were just chucking the dice). So they played the dark side on me. Bad timing on their part. I was a point monster. I hit 5 very quick points, no numbers at all and with me shooting a yo setting on the come-out I pretty much wiped them all. The table emptied pretty quick after that and it was M and myself. There was one other guy at the table who recognized us from yesterday and was just betting whatever we were, he has happy. M also had some pretty good hands and the other guy kept passing to us. I was up about 8K when we started giving it back. After that downslide we decided to go have an early dinner (I left up about 4K). We got something light at the food court (I don't like to eat heavy the day before I fly).

When we had dinner Tuesday night our host mentioned in passing that she always wanted and iPad (we're a bunch of geeks so we were talking tablet processors). So M went to the Apple store to pick her up and iPad.

After dinner J showed up he still was looking rather ill. We went to an empty craps table and J's throws looked good even if he didn't. Some even looked glued together, he was on his game. I asked for my side to go to $25 and left the other side at $10. J doesn't like playing for $25. It was very up and down all night until finally J had a great hand. I was still playing heavy so I had all the numbers with yellow on them (this table didn't have the bonus or I'm thinking we would have hit them). After J's big hand he decided to call it quits since I don't think he could stand much more. I was up about 9.5K so I thought it was a good time to call it a night.

M showed up with a Victoria Secret bag. He had some girl scouts wrap up the iPad in a Victory Secret paper and put it in a VS bag.

We got hold of our host and gave her the bag and said that she could exchange it since we didn't know her size (yes we were doing our best to embarrass her), she was unflappable though, and when she unwrapped the edge she saw it was and iPad, she almost started crying. Some hosts may be well paid but I know for our girl that was a significant gift.

I texted my red head from earlier in the week and she wanted to bring reinforcements, since it was my last night I said the more the merrier. She brought another red head with her who was slightly shorter and a tad more buxom. It was still pretty early in the evening but we ended up spending the entire night. I offered to buy them breakfast but they declined.

I cleaned up and went and played some morning craps. I made the table a $25 table, but a kid came up and started dark-siding me. Wrong move. At $275 a hand that can get pretty expensive. He won a few, but between me hitting sevens on the come-out and hitting points he walked a away very upset saying that isn't supposed to happen. The dealers just shrugged. I did have a really bad session, the kid just had bad timing. He should have stuck around another hour. I ended up losing over 5K to help pay to keep a few lights on for a few hours. Time to go pack.

I packed up my stuff and got the limo to the airport. I was at the airport early so I got a full body massage. Yes, they are expensive but it was needed. I tried sending my meal to someone back in cargo class, but they were 'not allowed to do that'. The flights were both a few minutes late, but fairly smooth.

All that is left is to start planning next quarters trip

How is it that you seem to win thousands at every craps table you play at but the few times you lose it's only a couple hundred bucks, and you're playing so many of the prop bets? Also winning around a thousand each time you play 1-2 NL poker for just a couple hours? How much did you end up for the trip?

Thanks for posting. Interesting read. Can you explain to a non-craps player in a little more detail about your craps betting. It's obviously some unorthodox betting strategy but I can't quite follow it.

Also, I'm thinking of hitting Gallaghers for my next trip. Since you go there every trip I assume you would recommend it...what are the prices like?

That was the best trip report I've ever read hahaha. My buddy just turned 21 and I was trying to make a contribution to a college fund for him, but we didn't know how to even do that. You should provide some insight! Lol

I was also in town from the 15th thru the 19th and played quite a bit of craps at the luxor. Our paths may have crossed.

Finally! A man who isnt afraid to admit that he is a philanthropist. I also contributed to the college fund of an aspiring co-ed or two back in the day. But that was a long long time ago.

    Great trip report!

Ya I'd like to know some more about this as well.
Seems like the first girl you encounter always has a good deal and its on from there?
    Whats an average hourly rate?
    How much for a BJ?
    Ever been rolled?
How many STDs do you have?

Love the great trip report! Between all the action on the craps table and in your room you probably need about a weeks worth of sleep when you get back home!

I'm curious as well on how you do your progression bets on craps, since that's also one of my favorite games. Glad it was a profitable and fun trip for you!

For those of you that thinks craps is luck. Well it is if you are just chucking the dice down the table. In the long run you will lose, sorry but the math doesn't lie. However if you go home and practice many thousands of hours you may just be able to slightly influence the dice.

So for the most part if you see a person next to the stick who is setting the dice and gently tossing them exactly the same way every single time, then bet with that person. Everyone else bet the dark side. You might just come out ahead :)

My buddies and I practice a great deal, and it is my belief we influence the dice some. That being said I did lose over 5K on my session, so while we might influence them some, it's not always, and you must be exact in your practice. The trick to not losing big is when it gets cold, don't bet, or bet very small. If you're going 270 across, just start playing the min on 6 or 8, or wait the 3 count before betting at all. Even better, start playing the dark side on a cold table.

For those asking for our craps strategy, I mostly play across when we're throwing, and either the dark side or just 6&8 without the pass while someone else is throwing. The proposition bets go like this: On the come-out we're setting a 'yo set'. So if we're on our game you'll see a bunch of yos and 1-2. The other numbers that may come out if we're on axis are midnight and aces If we double flip then you'll get 6-1, 5-2, 5-5, or 2-2. If you put money on a world bet if either 6-1 or 5-2 comes up then it pays for itself. So if the crap we're trying to throw comes up we can make a lot of money by parlaying our world bets.

As for poker. Most people that play are really bad, and they think they're good. Most can't read people, and only know how to play by what they see on TV. The kids will go all in with just an ace. So taking a few hundred dollars from them each time they go all in quickly adds up. My advice is play tight and pick your spots. Really helps if you play a lot of poker and learn to read people. In Vegas always look for the pros first. Keep the pots as small as you can with them. They're fairly easy to spot. They'll be playing the good hands :)

As for the women. There are lots to choose from. Each casino has certain areas where you'll find a bunch. It's generally $300 for a bell. It's rarely the first girl I encounter that gets my business as I'm looking for certain type with a certain amount of class. I can't say I know how much they charge for a BJ as I'm usually looking for a lot more. I tend to keep my women all night which can range from 2k to well over 10K depending on the women. I try to keep it under 5k. I've never been rolled but my buddy was. Luckily they only took his cash. I have no STDs. I'm very careful when I'm with a girl. The girls will also be very careful. If they're not, then run away.

Gallaghers is great. Prices are pretty good, cheaper the Craftsteak. I think the filet is under $50. If you go for the prime get the Queen cut as the King cut is HUGE. Not kidding, it's so big it's almost a joke.

Also forgot, I generally do a take/press progression on the place bets.
That being said I'll occasionally do a quick press if I think I or my buddy is on our throws.

When playing the dark side I'll usually take max odds, but not always, more of feeling thing.

lol I didn't think you'd actually answer my questions, thanks! I've never paid for sex directly but always though it'd be funny to tell a story that goes along the lines of "Ya, I bought a BJ from a hooker in Vegas, big whoop, wanna fight about it?"

Thanks again for being so honest about your trip.

I have a few dice setter friends as well, and their belief is the same, that over a large number of rolls if they can influence just a minor percentage of the rolls, they come out ahead.

You can tell who they are right away because they are usually to the right or the left of the stickman, and throw real soft.

For me, I like to roll with a set, if only to have some kind of routine....don't practice like my friends do (they have portable rigs), but it is fun to hear them talk about their "dice influence" :)

As for the hookers, one has to wonder why there are so many of them if only a few people partake of their services (I'm thinking a lot more do than admit it).

    Thanks for the report

The first craps session was at NYNY? Were those new dealers and a training session? They seemed to not understand betting.

I have been at tables with one new dealer, two veterans, and a knowledgable boxman. But never with all new dealers.

Wow Bo awesome report! I've been playing a little more craps and its always fun, just irritating because I'll bet max odds on the pass and a couple of come bets which ends up being a good chunk of change on the table being risked but not being rated for since they don't count odds.

I'm surprised MGM was so bad about getting your AC fixed! What type of room/suite did they give you? It sounds like you give them enough action to get something pretty nice, so its pretty weak of them not to service your room properly.

Thanks for the read. As far as the nightly girls go, maybe next time add a couple of pics of the 9s and 10s :)

The NYNY dealers had the hardest time, and the boxman was beside himself because of it. He even cracked that he was going to buy a bunch of calculators in bulk for them. They weren't in training but they were pretty young.
Although the dealers at both Aria and MGM got it wrong a few times too. The dealers at MGM had the easiest time.

In their defense it is some odd betting. Add the world * 1/5 + odds - world *4/5 then either - craps or + craps * odds (depending if it was a yo or craps).

The MGM dealers are by far the most experienced as some of these guys/girls have been doing it 30+ years, so they get the pattern down quickly.
It also didn't help that my 2 buddies and I all press the world differently. I'll press harder or even parlay, and my buddies will be doing different amounts. Plus we usually have different craps bets too. The baseman would usually have it ready to pay before the stick got to him (MGM dealers are real good at that).

When I grow up I want to be just like Bo. AWESOME REPORT! Do have a question though, what is your average rated play at the craps table and what they earn in terms of comps?
