I'll be travelling with a group of 8 other couples who are staying at Monte Carlo in June. I will be with a friend as wifey didn't want to go, so sort of a solo trip lol. No offers were used for my room at Monte Carlo, and pre-paid by my job (LUV my job!)
Out of the blue, I received an offer for 3 nights in a Luxor tower room (never stayed), $100 in Resort credits and $150 in Free play, so I booked it! I've never been offered this much before from anyone. Must be from my play at MGM in March. Here's my questions and remember there are no stupid questions, just stupid mistakes:
    1. Which tower should I request? I looked at the property map and as my time will be split between Luxor and Monte Carlo, the East Tower looks closer to the tram. Is the west tower much better? as in more recently updated??
    2. RE: Resort credits. Probably just use this for food. Do all restaurants on the website accept room charges? I'd like to try the Mexican place, and might be dining alone. I know I can charge other mgm restaurants to my room but will resort credits work or do they have to be exclusive to Luxor?
    Thanks in advance!

I don't think either tower is really close to the tram. Either way, there is a bit of a walk.

T&T should take your RC. It's very good food. Have fun!

    Either tower...just NOT the pyramid

Charging food to your room at Luxor from other MGM properties CAN be paid for with RCs. I charged a meal from TAP at MGM to my room at excal in March and I paid for it with RCs

The mojitos at Tacos & Tequila are fantastic! Better than their margaritas in my opinion. I like the skirt steak too. And a Mojito. Nice bartenders. Great chips & guacamole. Along with a few mojitos....

    What tower?

I need another couple mojitos. There's a pyramid around here?

T&T has very good food and very good service.

Definitely don't stay in the pyramid.

T & T has an amazing selection of tequilas, including an awesome Organic Anejo, if you are into Anejos.

The tram won't get you to MC anyways.. you gotta take it to Excal.. then cross the street, and walk all the way over. I think the towers are the same level of updated.. as far as I know. They are actually pretty nice. I stayed in one last year. Just ask when you check in. When I did the lady asked me if I had a preference and I asked which was closer to the parking (I don't recall the answer).. and she gladly explained everything. The towers are kinda far away.. it was an ad on to Luxor so it's a little bit of a hike to get to them.

As long as you can charge to your room you should be fine. Though, I'd probably try to dine at Luxor since they sent you the offer.

Stay at the tower at the Luxor, also backstage deli is good. The buffet is not that good. Also they have a place that serves waffles and crepes its at the back by starbucks and the pool. Upstairs they have abrunch of fast food places to eat.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I should have mentioned that I've played at Luxor a little, been to Carrot Top twice (HIGHLY Recommended), The Titanic exhibit (also good at least once) and I actually don't mind the Buffet there. I've never had a room there yet. The BEST prime rib I've had was the Luxor Buffet a couple of years ago. I've been to Vegas about 30 times, and know many short cuts when walking but I'm trying to save a little shoe leather with the tram to Excal.

Taking the tram from Luxor to Excalibur instead of just walking will only save about 0.3 miles of walking.

As far as the towers go: the east tower is closer to the front of the property and thats where the tram is - to get to the tram you exit out the front of Luxor and cross the valet area to the base of the Sphinx and catch the tram there.

If taking the tram from Excalibur to Luxor note that it doesn't stop at Luxor on the Excalibur to Mandalay Bay route... you will have to ride the tram from Excalibur to Mandalay Bay and then stay on until its heading back to Excalibur.

Have they ever updated the TV sets in the pyramid? We went into some of my brothers friends rooms in 2011 and they still had tube TVs
