We were talking with a host about available junkets and he started to push Council Bluffs. The selling point is that its so close to the stockyards that the steaks are awesome there. I need more than that to make me go to the other side of Iowa. Can anyone talk this place up?

360 steakhouse at harrahs has excellent food and fantastic view of Omaha... Casino is awful worst harrahs I've been in and I've seen quite a few... Horseshoes casino is better.

Harrah's is a riverboat, now permanently docked... hotel is attached.
We have had good food at Ace's Diner and the buffet, but never any good luck in the casino.
I agree.... the Horseshoe is newer, and nicer, but still a low paying Harrah's property.
If you are traveling across Iowa expecting to win BIG, don't count on it.
Entertainment factor is fine, but not the pay out.

We have had much better luck at Tama on Highway 30 which would be on your way.

    Good luck!

Horseshoe is nice. Not really worth the trip from Chicago, though. If you were within 2 hours or so it would be worth it, but not any further out.
