    Hi---

We are staying at Caesars' Palace from 4-24-14 to 4-30-14. My family is leaving and I have a buddy coming into town on 4-30-14 and we are staying until 5-5-14. I have a reservation at Caesars' through the 30th but nothing afterwards.

I'd like to stay at Caesars' when my buddy arrives but now the room rates are so expensive (due to Cinco de Mayo). Is there anything I can do to get cheaper rates at Caesars? Would it make sense to wager for a few days first so they can track my play and give me reduced rates?

Would love some ideas and would be very appreciative.

    -Dave

Are you a regular player at any CET properties?

Have you checked elsewhere? CP is often on the high end of prices.

As to playing and hoping for the best - maybe, maybe not. I would not plan on that route.

(P.S. - when posting here, try to make your title a bit more descriptive - most of the questions are folks that "could use some help".

Yup it's the fight that's jacking up rates not so much the "holiday". There always seems to be a fight that weekend. If your normal play at Caesars would warrant a better rate then great. But don't play more than you normally would, that's a common mistake gamblers make, chasing comps.

Cinco de Mayo has nothing to do with rates for that weekend, besides CdM is on Monday. There is the fight on Saturday and it's also the day of the Kentucky Derby. It is always a fairly pricey weekend in Vegas.

I would suggest downtown unless you think you will gamble enough to get the room discounted after the fact on a big weekend.
