I'm planning a trip to Vegas next year and after hours of searching (and reading reviews) I think our best bet would be the Cosmopolitan.

I signed up online to the Identity membership but since then never have received an email or anything. (Did the same at the Palms and the first email was a 40% discount on next booking)

I've also read here on the board that the cosmo is the worst place for comps.

What would be wise to do? Book our room anyway or wait if we ever get a nice deal or find a deal on the internet?

Does anyone receive emails (with discounts) from the Cosmo?

Any help would be nice, thanks

We are booked at the Cosmo for our upcoming trip in less than 2 weeks:beer:

I can't say that I have ever seen Cosmo send out deals via email. You have to either check their website (http://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/stay/packages.aspx) or go to a travel website (we used Vegas.com) and see what kind of deals are being offered.

We were able to book our room at Vegas.com using the discounted gift cards purchased at Costco, but that program is no longer being offered.

    Good luck.

    Hi there

I, too, signed up online for Identity , when the Cosmo first opened ...never actually got to Vegas until a good year after it was open, and got my cards, back in Jan 2011 ...... played a little but never rec'd any offers
This past May, I was back in Vegas , and played a lot , hit a slot machine and had a $420 win , only had put in $40.00 but hit a great bonus round.....Also played the Ghostbusters game, and was on a constant win ,
so after about 4 hrs of playing slots there with a couple big hits, and putting a lot back into the different machines ........I did get this offer via email on July 19/2012.......two months after leaving Vegas ...... Just wish I could be going back b4 the end of November lol as I also have an offer for 3 nights at Bellagio and $100 FP lol (heading to NYC in OCtober tho)
    Hope this helps ............

Cosmo is pretty tight on comps or deals. They continue to have rather high priced rooms.

Booking a room now (with a refundable rate) is always a good idea. You can cancel later if a better deal comes along, or you decide to go to another hotel. Make sure you can cancel without penalty.

Had 2 free nights sun-th. Gambled there during 1 trip (and did not stay there). A buddy got the same deal. I was playing about $25/hand. They seem fairly standard as far as comps go. Also, due to the cost of their rooms, it may take more gambling to get a comp night there than most.

    Thanks for the replies.

I think I'll keep checking their website every now and then and book within the next couple of months. I hope I don't have to pay in advance. I read some articles about how the cosmo is loosing so much money each quarter, hope they don't close and make me loose my money before I even get to Vegas...

@ kmarcin please write a trip report!

Sounds like you will be gambling there, so Make sure you book the room through csomo website if you want to have a chance getting it comped at the end of your trip. I don't think you will be charged upfront.

I clicked a bit further than just the room prices on their site and I don't have to pay upfront. Only CC details "in case"...

Good thing to know they might comp me a bit at check out. Getting good comps for a second visit isn't worth much if you're not often able to visit Vegas :(

Hope they loosen up a bit in there comps next year

Cosmo does not do the mail outs and email comp offers like some casinos. If you're a gambler and put in about $3000K for a few day trip or anything of the like, I suggest you play as you normally would and then at the end of your stay ask about a host connection.

I'm a relative low baller (I typically lose about $2500 for a few days trip). I get nothing by email or mail, but just email my host when I want to come. I don't get any radical VIP suites or anything, but I definitely get better rates and sometimes a day or two for free.

Also, they have a very simple system of points conversion (every 100 points equals a dollar, I believe) so you can easily see your points at the end of a trip and use them to pay down your bill.

Do you get points for the cash you spend at the restaurants and nightclub as well? It'll all add up in the end

You do, but I've no idea how that's calculated or anything. From what I've heard it's pretty negligible compared to gaming and other stuff. If you just bill everything to your room it all kind of manages itself.

Review the bill at the end, make sure there's no mistaken room charges or anything, and then just ask to apply your points to the bill. 28000 points, as an example, would give you $280 applied to your bill.

$690/4 nights for that room is a very good deal at the Cosmo.

Didnt read every post so not sure if it was mentioned, but Cosmo is part of Marriott's Autograph Collection, so if booked through Marriott.com, and find a lower price on another website they will match the lower rate, PLUS give you another 25% off. See this thread for info: http://forums.jackcolton.com/showthread.php?11454-how-to-get-Cosmo-cheap.

Went in June and got 3 rooms for about half the price listed on the Cosmo or Marriott website. As long as you can find a cheaper rate than what Marriott has you will save a good amount of money.

By "does not do mail outs like other casinos" do you mean at all? Because I'm a low roller and get snail mail offers from them.

Cosmo is the best hotel in Vegas and I don't give a rats ass what anyone else on this board says. The place is great.
