I know how to use the search function on this website, and I know how to use Google. I'm also aware of vpfree2. Having said that, I read a recent trip report, either here or somewhere else, that seemed to suggest that Cosmo VP had gotten worse pay tables at their bartops.

Anyone who has been there in the last month -- can you either confirm or refute that? I'm going soon, and I wanted to take my girlfriend to try some of their crazy drinks and play some VP, but if it's terrible pay tables, I'd rather just buy the drinks and play elsewhere. It doesn't have to be JoB...I've played most variants, so I can adjust my play accordingly.

    Thanks

Yikes, there has to be a better progressive game than that at the bar. 8/5 DDB maybe? I was at Cosmo last week, but failed to check the bars, sorry seviay. :(

Games on the actual floor aren't nearly that terrible. They have a 100-play for cheap as pennies with no bet minimum requirement that has 7/5 Bonus (98.01%). They also have Double Super Times Pay for quarters with 7/5 Bonus (98.51% with Double STP bet).

Thanks for the replies. See, this is where vpfree falls short. It doesn't help me to know where the full pay $5 machines are. Just tell me where some of the "almost as good" machines are!

I'll be there this weekend though, so hopefully I can come back with some more info. In the meantime, if anyone else has info on their paytables at the bar(s) or elsewhere on the floor, I'd really appreciate it

I don't know what the typical variance is for Progressives and such, but I'll tell you that all of the machines outside of the High Limit Room are lower pay scales than those in the HL. I play almost exclusively the $5 DDB in the Cosmo HL room. If they mess those tables up I'll throw a friggin' tantrum.

Please say this isn't true. Im going in 2 weeks and I will play a mediocre payable like 8/5 DDB if it means I can have those great comped cocktails and all that Cosmo eyecandy at Bond.

Unsure if I would go lower than that...

Considering I thought the games looked better than expected on the general floor, I would be a little surprised if the bar was lower than 8/5. CET is 8/5 even; does Cosmo want to look worse than CET?

The eyecandy def. can't be beat though.

I think a lot of this, along with 6:5 BJ, and lower odds at craps is all part of the post Mirage trend that resorts get most of their income from non-gaming revenue. Eventually, hopefully, people will realize that they can party, eat and see shows elsewhere and the pendulum will swing back a little towards being more competitive with other casinos in regards to gaming. Wishful thinking probably, but I hope it happens.:peace:
