    Hi everyone.

I had a chance to stay at Cosmo for the first time back in July, taking advantage of the generous offer from Kevin to match a comp offer I had received from Mirage. I really enjoyed the hotel and the casino, and I ended up earning Sterling Identity status over the course of my trip. I played at Cosmo even on the days I wasn't staying there, and I did pretty well at Cosmo and ended up earning a little over 4,000 points entirely through machine play.

I was hoping that advancing to Sterling status would entitle me to some hotel offers by email or snail mail, but so far I haven't received anything since my visit in July. In any event, I'm planning a trip to Las Vegas in November, so I gave casino services a call to inquire about hotel rates, thinking that I might qualify for some type of discount. I provided my Identity number, but unfortunately the rates I was quoted were essentially identical to (and for one day, a few dollars more than) the "discounted" rack rates available to anyone on Cosmo's website.

As a question to other Sterling members out there, does Cosmo typically extend discounted hotel offers by email or snail mail to Sterling members? I realize that Sterling is the lowest of the "advanced" tiers, so I'm certainly realistic with my expectations, but I would have thought that at least some sort of casino or players rate might be in order, especially since my trip is the week of Thanksgiving which is traditionally a pretty slow week in Vegas. I do still have my single comped night available on account of advancing to Sterling, but I'll just hold onto that and hope that I can use it along with a discounted offer sometime next year. In the meantime, I'll probably just stick to my old standby mLife comp offers for Mirage and Aria this trip. I certainly liked staying and playing at Cosmo and was looking forward to staying and playing there again in the future, but I may end up curtailing my play there if Sterling status doesn't even qualify a player for any type of hotel discount.

4000 points =$10k coin-in, roughly $1k theo. So your total comp would be $300. If you stayed 2 nights with some free play and /or food credits, then you low-played them in your July trip.
Even if it was a match offer, you have to "earn it" with your play if you want to get future offers.
I don't know the detail of your offer in July, I would guess they were looking for $20k or more coin-in.

Tier itself doesn't get you marketing offers at CET, Mlife or Cosmo (see exception below)

JeJas pointed out how much theo and comp value 4,000 points represents. I'd agree that level of play covers 2 or 3 nights in the standard room at Cosmo. So if you didn't earn those 4,000 points in 2 or 3 nights, you underplayed vs the comp.

But unless it took you 10 nights to get there, I'm a little surprised you haven't gotten anything from them by now, even if it was only for discounted rates. It may take a little longer, I dunno.

I get offers both by snail and email, and they come regularly, repeated pieces for the same offer. But I average somewhere around $4k coin in a day when I'm staying there. Cosmo does work off of a somewhat irregular schedule of generating offers. My latest one is good from Nov 24 - Jan 18, but I have an older one that covers through Nov 23.

I think casinos may send out offers in staggered fashion depending on play level, ie. give bigger players a shot to book first. I'd be surprised if you didn't end up getting some offer pretty soon.

Not just you. I haven't received anything in awhile. Went in July, got an offer right after, stayed and played in August and haven't received any emails or mail. There is another thread I believe on vmb with someone having the same issue. Not sure what is up.

Thanks for the replies. To clarify, I earned around 4100 points over the course of 7 days, with about 1200 points earned over the first 4 days, then the remaining points earned during the 3 nights I spent at Cosmo.

Again, I realize that approx. $10k coin-in on slots and making Sterling status isn't going to qualify me for one comp offer after another, or any comp offers for that matter (aside from the 1 night earned by achieving Sterling), but I thought that if nothing else, I might see some discounted room offers come my way.
