Since when did Cosmo start charging resort fees ($30/day) on comped rooms? We didn't pay them the last time we stayed there. We have an offer but when we called to book it, they told us about the resort fee. We said "no thanks". There are plenty of other places that don't charge resort fees on comped rooms-MGM, Stations, Boyd, CET (if you're diamond which we are). I know there's been a lot of discussion on resort fees but I'm one of those in the "I won't pay resort fees" camp.

This must be very very new. I have a few stays in the next 40 days, all of which are comped but was told explicitly there wouldn't be any resort fees. I am platinum via Identity so I wouldn't pay regardless, and my comps are from platinum status vs. gambling offers, but this is still unacceptable. What was the source of your offers?

That is strange I was just at Cosmo and My resort fees was comped and have always been comped. Are you Gold or Platinum with Cosmopolitan?

That might be the reason. I know gold and platinum get resort fees waved.

Hmm. Sterling for now and I am booked on comp nights in April and asked twice about resort fees and both times was told they would not be charged on a comp room offer. Guess I need to make another call.

I booked a stay at Cosmo for a couple of comp nights the first week of December just a few days prior to arrival. I was told then that the resort fees would be waved and, sure enough, I did not have to pay them. I'm currently sterling with them, but had 0 points on my card prior to that stay.

It makes me wonder if they started this in mid December when the talk about changes to their systems started.

Booked 2 comped nights at Cosmo for May but have to pay the resort fee. Talked to a Cosmo host and he said he will look at back end comps for room charges and fee at check out. We'll see what happens in May

We're the lowest tier, whatever that is. We've only stayed there once and have not played there since that stay but yet got another offer. The offer was a marketing mailer.

You went elsewhere due to the $30 daily resort fee? I know it sucks paying them but really?

MGM properties charge resort fees on comped stays too, depending on the offer you get.

Just received email response from Cosmo. Fees are waived on any complimentary nights offered. Booked in February, staying in April, Sterling level. Won't have to switch to CET. Whew.

Yep, going to GVR which we really love. We haven't paid anything for a room in Vegas for many years and don't intend to start now. We stay at MLife props all the time and are never charged a resort fee. We will continue to fight resort fees with our wallets closed for as long as possible. We figure that they get enough of our money from our gambling. Why should we pay resort fees when we don't have to?

Really? Whom did you email? Because I just booked off of a mailer (Sterling level) and was told specifically they are now charging resort fee on comp rooms. It even says it on the mailer's fine print.

I think it depends on the offer. Some offers would specifically state that you will be charge the resort fee while others don't, meaning you won't be charged.
