Interesting. This is new! I checked the identity website the other day actually and it was indeed as you said "1 point per $20 wagered". Something else I've noticed is the coin-in for slots is increased to $2.50 per point while VP is reduced to $6 per point. Also, Sterling is 4,000 down from 5,000 and Plat is down to 50,000 from 80,000.

Though if you're a big enough table player I wouldn't worry about your card color. You will get the rooms or offers based on your play.

Yeah and actually the host can give you a Plat card any time even if you haven't played $1 there.

Nice to see Cosmo isn't going to bone over VP as much now. More in line with competitors.

This is an insane change. Gold used to give you 3x slot points and now it is 2. Also it was 1.50 to earn a point and now it is 2.50. I think that is an almost 60 percent increase in what it takes to earn a point. Used to be 30k coin in to get gold at 20k points. Now it is 50k coin in to get gold. ALso now my table play doesn't help me get there. Sucks

    Old guidelines

    Earning Identity Points
    $1.50 through a slot machine = 1 Identity Point
$7.50 through a video poker machine = 1 Identity Point
$20 table game bet = 1 Identity Point
$1 of lodging, dining or retail purchase = 5 Identity Points

If this is the case, what's the point in playing table games at Cosmo now? If I can get at least a little love for my small bets across the street, I might as well play over there and use comps there.

Agreed, this seems to go against their goal of attracting more gamblers-

But card level doesn't determine your comps or offers. If your table play warrants an offer or comp you'll get it. There's a few local casinos in Louisiana while you don't earn points per say for table play you most certainly get mailers in line with your bet level.

While you will get comp offers if you play enough on tables, tier level actually does affect room comps at Cosmo because you basically get 4 room nights comped when you reach Gold, simply for reaching that level.

It's not a low-to-mid-roller friendly change unless they are also lowering the bar for comp offers not based on tier.

This is a huge Change. Say you were a gold member of Cosmo by putting 30k coin in on two trips. You had 3x points on slots and it was a 1.50 per a point. You put $22,500 thru the slots on your next trip and you earned 15k points. This would of turned into 45k points. YOu had earned 450 dollar in points for comps or free slot play. Throw in a few hours of table play and 100+ a hand and you get some misc points.

WIth the Change- You put in 22,500 in slot play. You get 1 point per every 2.50. You would earn 9k points. You now get a 2x multiplier. Your 9k points turn into 18k. YOu have 180 in comps or free slot play. This is a significant change in up front comps. Ability to comp yourself without having to ask a host. YOu lose 270 dollars in comps. This is a painful change. PLus nothing for table games at all on points.

According to shifter a host can hook you up with a platinum card, perhaps they can do gold too.

Right, I'm a smaller player as well. Though the majority of my play on machines is VP even though their payables are nothing to write home about. I enjoy the bartops at the various bars. It's a slight improvement. I think the most I've earned in points on a tables in a trip is around 1,000. It takes a lot more than that to get gold. You and are small enough players that if we stay there we probably don't get all of our room charges comped so the 4,000 points for sterling isn't that tough to hit. Though I am with you on being annoyed that table play doesn't count for points but the shift in vp points works better for me.

When I was at Cosmo back in January, the Identity desk told me that the multiplier did not count towards reaching a tier level. I thought that was odd and made me wonder what's the point of a multiplier. Please tell me she was just clueless.

Multipliers do not count towards your tier. What littlepiggie was implying is the points you can use for comps or free play is greatly reduced with gold going to 2x and $2.50 a point on reels.

The change in point multiplier plus cost to get a point is horrible for slot players

So Cosmo has stopped giving points for table game play....

...wonder how long it takes someone to realize that this is probably one of the most colossally dumb ideas of all time and reverses it...

Wow this news is disappointing. I am almost 100% a craps player and loved the fact that my play counted towards points. I have a trip coming up next month and I am really thinking of staying elsewhere now. Bummer for me I guess, but I am a tiny minnow in their huge pond.
