I booked Cosmo next month for a few nights, and now I see that there is an MMA fight scheduled that Friday night. I come in late Wednesday and leave Sunday morning. I am wondering how this event impacts crowds. Will it be much busier and will it be a different clientele than normal? My only other stay there it was lovely until the weekend came around, and then it was filled with lots of young ******y kids, but other than being loud, drunk & obnoxious they weren't really a problem. I am an older broad traveling solo, and a little concerned that the fight crowd might be different?

I have a 1 BR terrace booked, and I am wondering if I should just pay ahead to get a fountain view. I was going to try to upgrade at check in, but I am thinking it may be difficult if the place will be full.

I am also hoping that the Bond Bar comp drink experiment doesn't spread by then. I enjoy playing VP at the Queue and Chandelier bars, and although I don't drink a ton, I really don't like the idea of having to change bars when I want a second one.

I don't know that the UFC events at Cosmo (Thurs and Fri) will have a huge impact on occupancy, the place they have the fights has a capacity of about 2,500, so it's not huge and you're arriving the day before. Personally, I'd lock in the upgrade if you really want it.

There is a huge fight at MGM Grand on Saturday, so there's going to be plenty of MMA'ers around while you're there.

the Cosmo fights on Thu/Fri are very small.

they're just piggybacking on the big fight on Sat at MGM.

I doubt it will have any impact.

but that doesn't mean the place won't be full.

as far as the crowd, the MMA crowd is very cosmopolitan and pretty laid back.

it's not at all like the boxing crowd.

Thanks so much guys! I am glad I didn't over react as my first instinct was to change hotels, but since a bunch of friends will be at Paris, Cosmo is the ideal location. I probably will call in to upgrade my view and just look forward to some quality fountain time.

I didn't want to sound politically incorrect but damn, that boxing crowd at MGM made me very uncomfortable to say the least! I am happy to hear the MMA crowd is different.

I am back to being excited about my trip :)

Expect the size of the Affliction t-shirt crowd to double.

Just to clarify OP says WSOF 26 which is not UFC. WSOF 26 is on Dec 18 at the Chelsea. The UFC fights at the Chelsea are the week before. I would think occupancy would not matter a bit around a WSOF event. UFC maybe a little but I would assume all the Irish that are coming back to Vegas will mostly be at the MGM.

DB city on fight nights. This poster nailed it.

Get ready to see more affliction and ed hardy shirts than you have seen.

You won't notice a thing. There is never a shortage of the Affliction army at the Cosmo at anytime. WSOF is just a blip on the radar.

This, I been in Vegas for huge UFC events, even met a few fighters, you'd never know, The hardcore MMA fan doesn't walk around with a Busch beer looking for fights ;) a few might but the majority don't

I was in town last week for International fight week with the big UFC event on Saturday. It was mellow and you really didn't even know there was anything going on if you didn't seek out the events. The Super Bowl crowds are much more rowdy and visible.
