    My Trip Report

Today is my first day back and I am already at my computer planning the next trip out!
We went to Vegas this past June and took our 19yo daughter and her friend. We had fun and did a ton of touristy things with them and didn't really do 'us'. So this was our Vegas do-over trip!
About us - not big foodies and we don't do fru fru drinks - we like to gamble, drink and hang by the pool. We had a great time at Cosmo in June so we chose to go back there.

Left TPA on SWA non stop on 5:40pm departure, flight was late taking off but landed on time, used all 4 drink tickets fairly quick and then napped- took cab (I always use @LVCabbieChronicles, twitter handle) $17 to cosmo - I trust him and love chatting with him about his latest adventures!

We had 3 comp nights and were paying $115 for Sunday night, plus had $85 free play. Checked in at Autograph desk and because we were already getting a Terrace Studio didn't even think about asking about upgrade or view. We were anxious to get to the room and get our party started! We were on the 37th floor with a view of the Red Rock mountains, Bellagio, Marquee and the other tower. Wasn't bad and we were happy with it. In June we did get the Bellagio fountain/strip view in West Tower. I liked the East Tower better because of the access to the restaurants and pool. Next time I may request a strip view. We did hear the day club and the night club - they weren't so bad though that I couldn't sleep.

These guys cracked me up - looking down on the dayclub (wishing)
my husband and I were dancing on our balcony to the music!
    IMG_2591.JPG
We were hungry and went to the 3rd floor to explore the restaurants. My husband is a fairly simple eater so the menus scared him a bit, I convinced him to eat at Milo's bar with me. Milo's food has a greek influence (i.e. not simple) so I ordered the Calamari which was so very good! My husband was not interested in anything else on the menu and this calmed our growling stomachs. We each had a drink and the meal was $76, this is expensive, but we are at Cosmo and in Vegas and I had a feeling we would get comped at the end.

After Milo's we went down to the casino and my husbands first instinct is to go to the sports book where he is comfortable, I asked him if we could check out the Chandelier Bar since they added VP. We found ourselves on Level 1 of the Chandelier Bar on the two seats in the far left. My husband had said he was feeling lucky so we started playing $1 DDB. After maybe 45 minutes of playing I got 4's w/o kicker and my husband gets 3 2's dealt and then Bam! a 2 and an Ace for a $2k handpay! He was down to his last $5 on the machine! Luckbox! damn... So then Grant the bartender comes over and says do it again! Well don't give my husband a challenge like that - 30 minutes later he is dealt 3 4's and then Shazam! a 3 and a 4 for his 2nd handpay of $2k within 1 flipped hour of playing! WTH - where's mine? Not at these machines, so I walkaway and go play slots. BTW - we were getting drink tickets no less than every 10 minutes - we could not drink enough to keep up!
    IMG_2565.JPG
    IMG_2559.jpg
    IMG_2557.jpg

    then...
    IMG_2561.jpg
    IMG_2563.JPG
I played some slots (Panda a multi game thing with Buffalo and then Wonka) and would win a small bits here and there and then cash out and play something else and lose it, then would win and then would lose and finally went back with my tail between my legs to see how my husband was doing. He had his $4k in his pocket and about $500 of the $1k we brought down. He said he wasn't done, lets go to the high limit room! I'm like, lets but I am not playing (losing). So at 1:30am playing $5 Bonus Poker he gets dealt 3 Aces then, you guessed it Wham! an Ace and a holy crap why the F wasn't he playing DDB? a 2! for his 3rd handpay for $2k in 4 1/2 hours from landing in Vegas! Luckbox! He could not lose - the rest of the night we attempted to use up all of our drink coupons and made it back to the room by 3:30am with $7,300!

On Friday am we woke up around 7am (fricken east coast time) hung......over. Holy crap how many drink tickets did we use? Maybe only 10 of the 25 we had! Today was suppose to be our pool day, we checked the weather and WTH? It was only 63 degrees?!?! Well my losing ass was not about to go outside in that! I have thin Florida blood and anything below 75 It turns to ice! well heck - I was hungry and needed to get some food in my belly to soak up the alcohol. We usually do a morning at Earl of Sandwich but I only brought a thin sweater (thinking the weather was going to be warmer!) So we stayed in Cosmo and went to the Overlook Grill at the pool - I wasn't about to go out there but from our table we could see how gorgeous it looked and also how cold the employees were! They were wearing sweatshirts and pants. At Overlook Grill we shared a massive Omelette that came with potatoes and toast - the potatoes were the best I have ever tasted! The omelette was so fluffy and made me feel so much better! Sorry no pictures, I forget when I am hungry!
It warmed up a bit outside so after breakfast we walked over to PH and played some VP and 3-card, lost so we walked over to Bellagio - this is a "must" for me each trip - I used to stay at Bellagio 3 to 4 times a year. Now I go and visit. I love the bars there and we sat on the back side of the sports book and played VP and drank water - I could not think of drinking yet..
We walked back over to Cosmo and decided to go to the spa - yeah me! I got a facial and my husband got a massage. I loved the spa at Cosmo - it wasn't as big as Bellagio or Wynn but it was peaceful and I needed the sauna to detox! We went back up to the room after the spa and I needed to lay down if I was going to be up at all on Friday night! We opened the sliding glass door and heard the party at Marquee. So, no sleep for me as my husband got his second wind and I used sugar free red bull to help me with mine! Showered and ready for the night we headed out around 7 - I have never been to Cabo Wabo and saw a picture of their tacos and wanted them! I had their carne asada tacos and my husband had fajitas - no drinks - just a pitcher of water! Great food and I will go back - it was nice to sit outside and watch the people.
Back to Cosmo by 9pm - we started playing on the VP machines outside the high limit room - and well guess fricken what? Mr. Luckbox is playing this crazy game Dueces Double Bonus - $1 @ $12 a spin. He puts $100 in and within 20 minutes YOOHOO hey lady with the earpiece and black suit come on over!
    IMG_2602.JPG
    the magic number of 2's...
    IMG_2603.JPG

Seriously... GDit! now I am getting pissed - usually we volley wins back and forth... but holy heck I can't buy a win! well... I get these... and I should be happy with these small wins - they keep me playing to go for the big one!
    IMG_2605.JPG

But then - my husband does this! He started playing TDB -
    IMG_2606.JPG
    IMG_2607.JPG
Who needs a Royal when he is getting the next best thing ALL THE GD TIME! We were honestly only playing an hour or two max!
Well I am thankful really really thankful that he is supporting my losing. I told him our accountant will appreciate my losses. right?
Off to bed for an early night at 11pm - Pool day on Saturday since the weather was going to be in the 80's!! yeah me! College Game Day too!

Saturday - we did walk over to Earl around 7am and after we ate we played a little bit at PH again - lost... CET has not been lucky to us the past few trips.
Off to the Cosmo Boulevard pool! We got great seats next to the water.
    IMG_2627.JPG
Grey Goose girls were there handing out samples!

    IMG_2615.JPG
but this is more our speed
    IMG_2609.JPG

we ate lunch at the pool - I LOVE the Fish Taco's from the Overlook Grill - I would eat these for every meal if I could - again forgot to take a pic - trust me - they are soo good!
Around 3 we had a good buzz going and headed back up to the room - I wanted to go over to Aria and get a crepe, seriously I was buzzed and I wanted a crepe - sue me...

    Guess what I got?
    IMG_2622.JPG
a Nutella crepe.. I am in heaven.. Then I wanted to go to row 802 - I had heard so much about it and my husband was "lucky" - unfortunately - this was all we got.

    IMG_2619.JPG
Cash out! Lost $500 before this happened. So adios Aria - oh and check this out...
    IMG_2620.JPG
    yuck..

Back to Cosmo and to collect on all the College sports bets - I don't know exactly what he bet - some parlay thing and he won $950 - Total winning tickets were over $1250
Back to Cosmo and this is where I start to feel bad... my husband could not win on Saturday night - we played everything, craps, BJ, VP, 3 card - no wins... not sure where we were with the funds, but we still had $$ in the safe and never dipped into it on Saturday - Early night because we had planned on being at the sports book all day Sunday and betting the NFL all day and playing VP at the bar.

Sunday am - finally I have convinced him to try eggslut! I am so glad I did! The bacon egg and cheese sandwich (w/o chipotle ketchup) was well worth it!
    IMG_2632.JPG

This is my new Earl of Sandwich - I do not know if I will go back to Earl! We got there early enough that there was not a wait and we were able to sit at the counter and eat and watch the chef's - it was a great experience!
    IMG_2634.JPG
I was full and ready to go to the sports book to watch all the drunk guys and gals scream at the TV's and root on their favorite team! I am a Seahawks fan by birth, a Browns fan by marriage and a JJ Watt fan - cuz he's gorgeous... but ultimately I had no skin in any game except the machine in front of me! I kept thinking it's my turn now darnit!
and guess what.... Good Morning to me!
    IMG_2639.JPG
I have never really played Keno, but I wanted to slow play my funds - I started with $100 at 9:15am and at 4pm I cashed out with... $1800!!!
    IMG_2650.JPG
i would switch back and forth between VP and Caveman Keno and Cleo Keno - here are some of my wins!
    IMG_2644.JPG
    IMG_2645.JPG
    IMG_2648.JPG
so I had a great day!! and the drink tickets again! kept coming - I have found a love for French Martini's! and William the bartender - whoa.. (no pic sorry.. just trust me!)
drink tickets pic... I bought the guy standing next to me a drink - he was peaceful and pleasant - the Giants fans down the way though... holy smokes! I feared for one woman's husband. She was vicious!
So drink tickets are supposedly only good for 2 hours, but then the bartender said - read the back! These are printed on the same TITO as the slots - says they are good for 180 days. He said he has never checked the time, he just takes them and pours the drinks.
    IMG_2652.JPG
We had lunch from Henry's delivered - and the truffle tutor tots?!?! really! its all I ever want to eat! pic of menu.
    IMG_2643.JPG

I was hungry again (imagine that!) and I had heard awesome things about Nacho Daddy - my husband was not about to go downtown so I was excited to see they built one beside PH behind Bdubs!

our last night in Vegas was spent at Nacho Daddy and it was so good too! I got the filet mignon taco's and my husband opted for just chips and queso and the Dallas Cowboys on the big screen.
    IMG_2654.JPG
    and a watermelon margarita!
Filet Mignon tacos - with carmelized onions on the side... yummy!
    IMG_2655.JPG

The walk back to the Cosmo was bittersweet - I hate leaving Vegas after an awesome time and with all the money we came with!
    IMG_2656.JPG

So beautiful at night.. my two faves - Cosmo and Bellagio.

once back at Cosmo we played a little bit more and then remember to talk to a host (ours was out of town) about any comps - it was a pleasant surprise to get around $600 comped!
Love the Cosmo and can't wait to get back there in May - when it will be my turn for the hand pays! ya whatever I don't care as long as someone is getting them! I benefit either way!

Thank you to everyone on this board who gave me the great tips on the taco's that I love and for sharing your love of Vegas!

Awesome trip, love the VP porn! Nice to know someone can actually draw that 4th card.... I sure can't even on multi-hand VP! Congrats and glad you enjoyed Cosmo, sounds like you've found your home!

Nice report, pics, and great VP wins from hubby! Pretty jealous of that deuces hit. Deuces at quarters have always eluded me. They also have the deuces double bonus game at the sports book bar, one of the best quarter games there to be honest.

Also good to hear tickets spit out every 10 minutes if you're playing fast enough. They seem to come that fast at the sportsbook too?

I'm guessing Riders and I must have timed out occasionally. And looked at the back of an extra drink ticket still in my wallet, yep the back does say 180 days since it's on slot ticket paper. But I bet some bartenders won't take them after 2 hours.

I also hate that the clock will start all over if you take too long of a break.

This was a great report! Bellagio and Cosmopolitan are my two favorites too!

Very impressive handpays for your husband! I'm jealous!

I'm surprised and pleased to see how many drink tickets were spit out. Good to know they can be banked for later. The tacos looked delicious!

Just an overall fabulous trip. Thanks for sharing!

Yes same - we were strict with only taking $1000 out each day. We would get some minor hits that let us keep on playing for the most part. Thanks for reading!

I agree about the quarters - I liked that when we got there the bartender showed us which were the quarter machines vs $1 only - I think we both times out after a bit but we had so many tickets it didn't matter. Once we started playing again they kept coming! I felt like they came just as fast at the SB. The guy one down from me kept complaining that I was getting more than him. The bartender told him "well you have to hit that button faster sir!" :)
