Planning a trip with my dad Sept 21 - 24 (Sun-Wed). I got the two night comp offer, upgraded to a fountain view and added a third night - I'll be giving this room to my dad, who loves Vegas but hasn't been for 10+ years. I was able to get a casino rate on the second room for myself, studio terrace for about $130/night. I love the Cosmo and have been talking it up to the old man, expectations are high. :)

Dad loves blackjack but my last several trips I've stuck to craps and roulette at Cosmo. Can we expect to see double deck s17 at a $25 min? Perhaps early in the morning? Or maybe I should ask, what are the mins for early day double deck s17 at Cosmo. I checked Wizard's site but I know the minimums are always time-of-day specific so I was hoping someone here could provide some info from a recent visit.

Also regarding craps - dad is fighting cancer, gets tired quickly, fights with chemo-brain. I've told him how great the dealers are at Cosmo, they'll help out with any questions etc and not to sweat it, but does anyone know if they'll provide a stool/chair to sit in at the craps table? My last visit I was at the table with a high-rolling Chinese guy whose mom stopped by to watch for a while. They pulled up a chair for mom to sit in to watch son roll. Point being, I'm hopeful they'll do the same for my dad but wondering if anyone has experience.

Thanks all - we're really looking forward to this trip, would love to roll dice or play cards with any VMBer's while we're out there??? Could very well be a last hurrah for dad so here's hoping for lots of winning.

Cosmo does not offer S17 doubledeck. Even in Talon at 300 minimum double deck is H17.

Yeah, it's pretty ugly at Cosmo for BJ. As mentioned, you won't find any DD S17 games at all. I've seen the H17 DD game and 6D S17 game at $200 in the HL room right off the main floor. You can find some 3:2 shoe games at Cosmo for low minimums. But all their single and double deck on the main floor is 6:5. (The good news is you're close to Bellagio and Aria...two of the best places for BJ.)

Unfortunately, I don't think you'll find S17 DD tables for $25 anywhere these days.

As far as the chair for your dad, I've seen the same thing as you as far as an older high roller getting a stool. I would hope they'd do the same for the rest of us. As long as the table isn't completely packed, I can't see it causing any trouble.

Enjoy your time with your dad. I'll be heading out with my old man in October.

Thanks guys. I guess we'll keep the bj to a minimum at Cosmo and head over to Aria, Bellagio or Bally's where I know the tables are better.

I would think if you mention to the pit boss that your Dad is on chemo and needs to sit, they would bring a stool right over. If they don't, you don't want to play there anyway.
