    My Trip Report

Decided to drive up on sat 6.14 as I couldn't get out of work early enough Friday.
Driving from Los Angeles during and after rush hour is a killer. A 4 hr drive turns into a 6 hr drive. This trip is with 1 friend, everyone else I knew had to do Father's Day at home. I'm the bad son and went to Vegas instead of flying home :wink2:

After a few losing trips early in 2014, I decided to play differently. I decimated my own bank roll by buying a car. ( depreciating asset is on par with gambling in my mind)

I got to Cosmo around noon, checking in without issue. Have a terrace room east tower. Drop off my bags.

2013 was a good year, I'd often win 3-5 x my buy in and be able to walk ( usually by chance as someone would drag me to go somewhere else )

2014 I tried to push my action more. In blackjack I would add extra hands instead of waiting. My initial buy in was too low for the table limit, and I would play with "scared" money and could never dig out my holes. This trip I have decided to play slower and walk away sooner.

Gambling so far. I'm using the mental envelope system. I have a marker, and I'll sit at a 50-100 table limit and take out 2,000 a session. If I was winning ( about 1/2 my buy in), I'd buy back my marker while still playing.

Fortunately on day one, I did this 6 times, and did the grind with eacsession, total a profit of 9,000. I blew back roughly 2,000 as I love me some gimmick games.
    Minus 300, casino war
Minus 500 roulette chasing 17/20 (damn VMB :evillaugh )
    Minus 400 free bet blackjack
Minus 800 various 5 dollar slots. Never won much, so poor coin in. A question for slot players. Do you guys move machine often if you don't get a few low level hits or just play it down?

Only one meal so far at Henry cafe, I like their steak and eggs. 14 oz ribeye, 3 eggs , hash brown and toast.
I'll get my stats from my host later, unfortunately for my play now prob won't qualify me for free rooms unless the my host is generous.

Funny/tragic thing I withnessed. Elevator going out to the lobby, east side elevator banks are quite narrow.
Drunk guy, vomits on 2 girls, as they try to run in high heals to get away. They both fall. Bad thing is the next group was texting and walking out of the elevator didn't have any situational awareness and slipping on the puke. At this point' there's 4-5 people on the ground, but no one could stand due to slick ground and high heals. Staff/guard came and helped quickly, but the offender ran off.

Day 2 starts now. Prob lunch at aria pizza while trying to figure out if Miami can force a game 6.

    Fk

Okay day 2 added on same thread, my buddies driving back so I can type.

Good thing I did not beat on the Heat tonight. It was tempting as the spread when I checked was 100 money line on Heat paid 190. Almost 2:1 bet. But they got beat up pretty bad.

Lunch was at pizza five50 at aria. I like it better fresh than pizza rock in dt and secret pizza Cosmo. Paid with express comps without issues. They didn't even check ID. It's very expensive with a pizza costing 26-30 bucks.

After that gambled for the next 6 hrs at aria. I don't keep track of my play there as mlife is now my 2nd choice to go to. It was nice to play on a 50min 6 deck shoes with all the good rules. But Cosmo is close enough for me. I feel the hosts for my level are easier to work with at Cosmo.

Grinded a session, turned 700 into 2200 before giving back 700 of it. Walked away winning 1500 in 6 hours or so.
Thrn tried to make one less push at Cosmo. Played for another hour. Broke even but then tossed it away playing roulette

Stats 12.3 hours average of 156. With a theo of 1280. Mostly blackjack as I didn't ask for the break down of games. I only had 80 in food charges so upon leaving the host suggested I went to get retail.

Only 1 retail stores u can charge to the room, was holograms by china pablano. I got a pair of jeans a tee shirt and a pair of raybans. It's nice to use my comps on retail as with the heavy gaming trips since I barely eat any food. I prob used 50% of my theo in comps and my host didn't care. Usually he says he can do 40% without any paperwork to the upper management.

Total profit: 8200 (official recount at home after all pocket emptied. Shirt, jeans, raybans, 2 belts for my friend and free room and food.

Hopefully I can repeat in Sept for my next trip. But my group is interested in trying thr sls when it opens.

    Love the new car!!!
Those $5 slots - If I don't hit anything in 5 spins, I move to the next one.

The smell was awful, As packed as Cosmo is, it's just always going to be a party hotel first.

I don't hesitate jumping off a machine as fast as running away from the puking guy if the machine isn't paying.

    Obligatory money shot
8k, with my lucky 5 dollar bill. Always on me in Vegas when gambling.

If anyone is curious, 1k each stack "compressed" with a paper clip x 8 stacks is not even 1 inch
I bet 10,000 wrapped with a rubber band barely makes it an inch. Not hard to conceal when traveling.

    And over priced retail.

Good stuff! But you detailed your losses more than your wins. My drunk ass had to reread your report again to notice your big bj win! :drunk:

I pretty much play 21 as fast as the dealer goes. I'm not one for slowing the game to take pics but I'd doubt they would let me take pics, even on exciting splits with doubles.

I wish I had fun pics of table game playing, but I like playing and forget bout my phone. I had many splits up to 3 and 4 times, but non of those are winners.

Splitting 8s against a 10 just sucks, specially when you get three or four 8s.

    Congratulations on the nice win.
Sounds like your "break up" with baccarat was successful.

thanks for the great report. Nice car and nice win! If I fell in someone's puke I would start puking myself so hard it would be one giant circle of horrible. Even smelling it I might throw up.

One reason I go to Vegas is to be witness to these kind of things, can't really get that experience anywhere else in the world.
