Upon checking out of Cosmo in August, I overheard the gentleman behind the desk mention to the host I had a THEO of about 15.5k for the night I was there. I think I spent a total $500, plus the room of course. She obviously has been emailing me a lot to come back, do you think it's fair to ask for more upfront this time since I spent so little last time?? My current offer is 3 night in wraparound or Lanai, $400FB, and $3000 promo chips.

You had a theo of $15,500 for one night? That seems like an extrordinarily high amount. That would essentially be $1mil gambled in one night at BJ...or $1000/hand for 12 hrs or so. If you indeed give them that kind of action, you should be getting a lot more upfront, as they should be able to easily comp you a $2-3k/day upfront with about $2-3k/day comped off the backend.

If that $15.5k theo is a mistake on their part...which I don't see how that would occur, but if your action is maybe 1/10th of that...you can press them for something more up-front, but realize you'll probably sour your relationship with your host...and your future offers will be severely impacted as you regress to the mean of your true average theo.

It's not a mistake, but it's also not my typical play. I played for about 6 hours, mostly wagering about 2k per hand, playing two hands. Sometimes it was a bit higher, sometimes a bit lower, but that was average. I'm already planning on cutting back on my play a bit, just to be a bit more responsible with funds, but I didn't know if I should take advantage of my last visit while I still could :) Also, as I mentioned in another post, I only play table games, and I have 89k points from this year, which means 1.78m in wagered dollars. So it seems about right based on your comment.

How many nights have you had at Cosmo this year? If that 1.78m is over 2-3 nights, you can definitely ask for more. Even if it is over 4-5 nights, you could ask for more. Go ahead and take advantage of that higher rating while you can. If you're impressed by rooms, I'd press for a Penthouse...if you're impressed by dining experiences, then more food & beverage credit, if you just want the cash, ask for more freeplay. I think you'll find any host will be willing to give more based on what I assume was a big loss with big play on your last visit. If I were in your shoes I'd keep the room and FB credit the same and push for $5k in promo chips.

2 nights this year at Cosmo. I'm with you completely, and that's what I was thinking, so it doesn't hurt to try!

With $15.5k theo in one night and playing two hands at 2k per hand you should just ask for anything you want and see where they'll say no. Others have posted that Cosmo promo chips are one-bet only, so they are worth a lot less than promo chips at other casinos. However they seem to be pretty generous with them from posts on here so I'd just throw out a high number. Same with F&B, if its $400 total that is really low so just throw out a high number on that as well. Your theo is high enough where you won't come across like an idiot if you ask for a lot more.

It's a promo chip, so they take it once you use it. Can't be cashed out at the cage.

You can get way more than that in F&B, and I would ask for it up front. Only issue is if they see a bunch of past history in their system with much lower play.

The only two times I've really played at Cosmo were those two trips, so they don't have a lot of low play from me. I asked for 5k in promo chips, we'll see what they say. I'll let you all know when I hear back.
