After doing research to find some relatively good paying $.25 VP on the strip, I plan on playing the 9/5 JoB at the bar near the Bellagio sportsbook. Does this bar comp drinks while playing VP?

I ask because I told my friend that's where we should play and he said we might not get comped drinks. He doesn't remember which bar but he swears that a few years ago, drinks were not comped when he was playing VP at one of the Bellagio bars.

Does anyone know which bar he would be talking about? Or maybe he got charged when he shouldn't have?

My experience with the Bellagio bars is, as long as you are playing MAX coins they comp all drinks...

A few weeks ago my wife wasn't even playing (she was chatting with TriggerMN's wife) and they comped 4 drinks for us, No problem at all!

That lemon drop was freaking fantastic, by the way. GC, do you remember the name of that Tennessee whiskey drink the guy made us?

Played at the Bellagio Sportsbook bar for the first time the week of July 5th. It's my new favorite place to play:

    * 25c nearly full-pay poker (the 9/5 JoB you mention--note that it's on the back side of the bar, near the Sportsbook itself)

    * really friendly bartenders (Cedric in the mornings is great)

    * comped drinks the whole time for max play at the quarter level

At the quarter level, you can't do much better than that on the Strip--and it's at Bellagio, which is of course cool in and of itself.

They had better still be comping drinks there because that's where I spend a ton of my time in Vegas. You need to play max bet and be sure to tip your bartenders. Lance is my favorite, but I don't think I've had a bad one at that bar.

Thanks for posting this. For I thought Bellagio didn't comp drinks for VP bar play.
Did I get this mixed up with Wynncore?

We often spend lots of time there. That bar often has lots of open seats. Watch the TV's from one side, the walk by folks on the other.

Really surprised it does not get more business.

Thanks for the replies. I will definitely be spending time there then.

What is the craft beer selection like if any? Also do they have real ginger beer? Want to start trying some "classic" cocktails. Planning on trying some of the following: Moscow Mule or Dark and Stormy, Manhattan, Old Fashioned. Sidecar, Rusty Nail, Brandy Alexander.

They kept bringing me very good, and generously-sized, Rusty Nails. I can't speak to any of the others, but it's a classy joint--I bet they could do all of them.

Interesting--We popped into the Bellagio 3 weeks ago, and the bartender said they didn't comp drinks while playing VP at the bar. We were at the round one near the lobby........YMMV

I got comped drinks at the sports bar playing quarter VP. Bartender even comped me a pack of cigarettes when I asked where I could get some as I am pretty unfamiliar with Bellagio. Very friendly and and attentive service that night!

At the Baccarat Bar I was getting comped drinks playing $1 VP, and after losing a bunch fast I switched to Keno (YUCK) playing a buck and was told he couldn't comp my next drink. So I switched back to VP and promptly hit a nice quad to go with my delicious Bellagio cocktail, thank you very much.

Bellagio has the best VP / sports book bar on the strip in my experience. At the Petrossian Bar you have to play dollars. FWIW, Mirage Sports book bar is now 10 quarter max bet. Not a fan.
