Who else gets frustrated when they visit vegas for 5 days and does not know how to spread their comp around. We are going with another couple and we decided to stay at the Cosmo. My host generously offered to comp 4 nights and I will need to pick up the 5th. THe trouble comes in is that my buddy wants to stay downtown at the nugget one night. I don't want to waste my valuable comp good will at cosmo and underplay them. I feel if I leave on the 4th day I should just make it a 3 day stay at cosmo. I don't know if anyone else feels they should just pay for their room so they dont' feel bad about meeting a certain level of play for their host. I think I may be slightly nuts.

I tried to get the wife to stay 2 whole days downtown but she won't. How is the Nugget about comping after playing? We plan on paying for the room up front and was curious if they will comp based on play?

I would not let it get to me. If you play decent for 3/4 days and low/no play on that last day... not a worry. It happens often - usually because the "mark" lost all his money already. They know that and it is part of the reason they do not comp you more days. They figure you will be broke, so why bother?

This is why I no longer deal with a host up front any longer. No though in the back of my mind that I have to meet a certain level to satisfy anyone. Mentioned this on Beeejay's thread about self comping. So you are not nuts, you just do not like having to tailor your trip to meet a hosts expectation.

The Golden Nugget will evaluate your play on departure. You can stop by the host office located in the Keno area, or just call the operator and ask to be transferred to the host on duty.

Got rush tower comp'd based on 4 hrs $10 craps plus odds (they rate odds). The host said they look for $60-70 avg bet for room comp.

Your situation sounds a hell of a lot like the situation Beeejay was talking about. You ought to subscribe to his self-comping system!

I'm with you. I hate the feeling of no/low playing a host on an upfront comp. I know people that take a "Us VS Them" mentality and try to screw over a casino. But I'm not one of them. I know a host has to answer for up-fronting me if I dick them.

I'm going through the same thing now. I've been staying at Mirage & Bellagio almost every trip. I used to stay at Mandalay Bay. But we want to spice things up and stay elsewhere in the MGM kingdom.

I keep getting corporate offers from NY NY for 3 nights and $100.00. I know they charge a resort fee on a comped room. So I emailed a host who was very nice and said she would put in a comp for me to match and that way she can waive the resort fee.

But now I worry my play wont be good enough, or that I'd try to impress my new host and over play. I know its stupid, but it stresses me out since I'm a weirdo like that.

I'm of the mind that my previous play is getting my room comp so I don't "owe" anyone anything. Your host isn't comping you anything you didn't already earn. They may not pick up charges from this trip, but your host won't be hurt by it nor take it personally.
