Looking for suggestions of nightlife in Vegas (gambling aside) for a group of guys that go to Vegas every year that are more interested in seeing a band play than crowding into a nightclub to see DJ Tiesto. Point being, we still like to mingle with the ladies and have fun, but grinding on the dance floor with a bunch of club kiddies just isn't our scene.

I hear you about the club scene.

Some of the resorts on The Strip have the old style House Bands and/or DJ setups. A lot of times they aren't advertised and they'll just sort of pop up on weekends.

A few weekend regular events I see on The Strip include the dance floor area of Paris, right off the main casino area. And the performance stage on the West side of Stratosphere 's casino. Tuscany Suites rotates bands through their lounges. Walk The Linq on a weekend and you'll often run into unannounced band performances. And, a few of the bars that open onto The Linq will have bands as well. Sometimes, people will be dancing. Sometimes they won't.

If you go Downtown there're weekend bands in several of the bars (e.g., Plaza, Finnz, Hennesey's - to name a few). I've only seen a handful of people dancing to the music - as with the above, it's kind of hit and miss.

I've often wondered where there are clubs or lounges where you can just relax, with maybe some girl singing soft music on a corner stage, but still allowing you to converse in a normal voice. Jeezaloo, not EVERBODY is into ear-splitting drug-thug-hip-hop and $5,000 bottle service.

This is Le Caberet and I came to suggest it too. Great music, low key.

Margaritaville used to have live bands. I can't say if they still do as I have not been in a year. I know they used to. They were usually decent, and it had a local dive bar kinda feel to it. In a good way of course.

Yes, agree. They now seem to have a band there all nights of the week. Used to be a deejay some nights.

There is the outdoor Carnival Court at Harrah's, between Harrah's and the LINQ, they have live music, a great bar with Flair bartenders and it's always a mixed crowd! Plus you're outside so that's cool and in between some spots midstrip, incase you do mingle and meet a lady and want to take her to dinner or something =)

There's a place at Palazzo called The Label that might suit what you are looking for.

If you want to have a good time without all the loud music, I would recommend going to the Foundation Room on top of the Mandalay Bay. I highly recommend this place. Or try the Piano bar inside Harrah's
