My brothers and I made the move to El Cortez after the closure of Lady Luck and quickly established ourselves there as worthy of free room offers. We play a ridiculous amount of hours at quarter VP and I buy in at the craps table for a hundred about six to eight times per trip. No big fish, but room offers consistently from Orleans, Four Queens, and El Cortez. About the time of the management change I got downgraded to the casino rate offers.

My normal play at Downtown Grand got me on their list after two visits, and I then called a host who okayed me for two nights, and later got a call back from a host who authorized four free nights. Again, no big fish, but I do go there to gamble.

I have made several attempts at El Cortez to up my play, last December I used my casino rate offer and scored more than the two thousand base points on day one, just shy of the number on day two. This trip included at least three hours of fifty cent play in the Parlour Bar. Planning my next trip, I wanted to see if someone would take a look at my recent play. Left voicemail with Nords, a week later I sent an email, a week later I left voicemail with the other host. I have had a Sapphire card for years.

I am beginning to feel personally snubbed, since my brother never fell off the good list and got an email answered within three days. Anyone else receiving a similar vibe?

My low play used to get me offers for 5x points on a day of my choosing, $15 per stay food allowance and waived resort fees but recently the offers don't include the waived resort fee anymore and that is the only perk that really mattered to me.
Last trip it was cheaper to book thru orbitz than it was to book directly using my offer code.
The Four Queens will be getting much more of my business because of the over 50 20% discount and the $10 room cleaning allowance for not having housekeeping once a day.

That sure sounds odd that you're not getting a reply of any kind. Even when I've asked for something they couldn't give me, Nords was quick to reply offering an alternative. One time I sent an email and got a phone call back within 2 minutes. Heck, last week I thought I was sending an email to Nords but mistakenly sent it to the wrong department at EC. I immediately got a note back saying they had forwarded my email to Nords and that he was on days off so I could expect a reply by XX date. I've always found customer service to be really good at EC so your situation is strange.

Have you logged in to Club Cortez to see if there are any offers showing? Wish I could offer you some better advice FullPay but I have none other than to keep trying. What you're experiencing is not normal customer service from EC. Unless you got really drunk and rowdy on your last visit, you should at least be getting a reply of some sort. Good luck!

No, when I get drunk I only get quieter while retaining my charming demeanor. :)

I am booked again on the lousy casino rate offer. Those on line offers are issued quarterly and was already there before my last trip. My wife will be with me so we should generate the necessary points. I hate to walk in on the guy because I'm not really looking for host level services, but to be completely ignored just feels like bad business practices.

Call the player's club for exact details, but before I started getting free rooms from EC, I had a reduced rate offer with a small print that said the room will be comped if I played 3,000 base points for a weekend night and 2,000 base points for a weekday night. I racked up 8,000 and got a voucher (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) from the player's club and gave it to the front desk, and it was taken care of.

Also, have you checked your offers online? http://myelcortezoffers.com/front/frontLogin.jsp

I just came back from there, with three nights comped, $100 in F&B and $75 in FP, so the offers are still out there. I think 2000 points on VP is only $2000 coin in, so even if you aren't playing the 100%+ games and are playing the 99.5% ones, your expected loss is something like $10. Take away $6 for the burger/pizza/subway coupon you get for 600 points, the $4 in freeplay for 2000 points, whatever comp value you get for 2000 points, and you can see why they aren't offering free rooms.

I've always found El Cortez to be pretty tight. Four hours of $50 a hand blackjack on a recent visit netted me zero offers. Of course, my theo was very low because the house edge at blackjack at ElCo is tiny.

Thanks for the replies, my online offer is the 2,000/3,000 point offer. Didn't do the math on the comp value but I'll pay closer attention this time. Like I said, I'm no high roller but I was solid on room offers for years and now I can't buy an answered email. I'll let this trip decide, I may just settle in at Downtown Grand after all.
