    Hello Vegas,

Does anyone know the closest place to get booze by the MGM Grand? Is there anything inside the behemoth that represents a liquor store?

    Thanks

Not that I know of but head north on the strip and there's an ABC a short walk away.

I think I saw alcohol in their store at check in if you don't care what you pay as well.

Its not a liquor store, but both the gift shop across from checkin and the smaller shop next to the West Wing entrance sell some alcohol. So does the tourist shop just outside the West Wing entrance

Depending on how much you are ordering might be worth to do a delivery from vons.com. That's what we did for a bachelor party and it ended up being way cheaper than any of the expensive liquor stores on the strip

Nothing like a liquor store, but you will be able to buy liquor from some of the stores on the property.

If you are just looking for a basic beer selection there is an AM/PM on Las Vegas Blvd the other side of the Tropicana Hotel. If you keep going down further there is a liquor store across the street from Mandalay Bay.

Going the other way down The Strip you can buy some individual cans and bottles of stuff from the souvenir stores and then if you go down further you'll come to an ABC store (it'll be on the MGM side, across the street from Monte Carlo) or further down and you'll find a Walgreens.

There is also a liquor store at the airport in the baggage claim area.

ABC store just north of MGM Grand, Grand Canyon Store or the gift shop in MGM Grand. If you buy at the gift shop, make sure you use your Mlife card to get a discount. Even the basic discount makes a difference and brings their prices more into line.

Overall, there are plenty of places to buy booze.

From my trip in March, ABC seems to be the best for prices, although nothing is really cheap. CVS is the worst in pricing and selection among non-hotel shops.

Here is my limited view from most expensive on the strip to more moderate.

    Mlife gift shops
    CVS
    Caesars liquor shops
    Walgreens
    ABC Stores

All of these had some premium over a normal store, but a 375ml bottle of Jim Beam started at $20 at the gift shop and a 750 ml bottle of the same was about $20 at the ABC store.

If I were you, I'd take either Uber or cab to lees liquor (chain store in vegas). It's a drag to get off the strip, but you'll end up saving a hell of a lot more than what you pay on the strip, plus the selection of the liquor couldn't be compared.

There is a liquor store a short walk down Tropicana next to the Hooters casino and a diner. Best route would be to walk out Mgm's main entrance by check in and cross the street turn left and it's just a minute away.

Out the back entrance by the rouge lounge / west wing / rainforest cafe is the Canyon Shops. You can buy liquor there, and it'll be way cheaper than buying it at the MGM shops. As an alternative, you can stop at the ABC Liquor on Tropicana on your way in from the airport. Either of those options is going to be fairly easy and inexpensive, versus cabbing off the strip or walking up the strip

Awesome - Thanks for all of the info! I just want a bottle of Bourbon and maybe some micro-brew beer to have in my room.

Just an FYI sevjay (since the OP seems new and I don't want him to be confused), I don't think you mean the rogue lounge. It's on the other side of the resort. But I know exactly where you mean (its the same door I referenced in my post above). I think that red bar you're thinking of is simply called the West Wing bar. Just don't want the OP to get lost and confused

If you're flying in and take a cab from the airport to the MGM stop at Super Liquor Outlet on Tropicana. Its right down the street from MGM and will only cost you maybe 3 extra dollars in fare if you're quick. Super big selection and disgruntled clerks make this a fun stop. Plus those CVS and ABC stores can get super pricey so stock up before you get to your hotel.....

There's also a liquor store in the airport but never checked it out. Assuming it's airport pricing as well

I paid about $70 for a bottle of Veuve Cliquot at Walgreens by PH, that you can buy at Costco for probably $45 just to give an idea of pricing.

The airport is probably about a 20-30% markup ... its just really convenience factor.
The ABC store is probably the best pricewise and its not too bad of a walk.
The liquor store on Tropicana is probably gonna give you the best variety.

I agree. The Liquor Library at the airport is expensive, but it will be better than the hotel gift shops. It is very convenient - I have picked up a few items before my luggage even made it to the carousel.

I will check the airport for a nice single batch bourbon. Then hopefully good craps and poker!

If you check your bag, you can always throw the bottle in your bag. I usually do that with a bottle of tequila every trip. Last two times my bag has beaten me to the carousel.
