I will be in Vegas at the beginning of 2015 and I'm trying to decide, Dunham, Penn and Teller, and/or Abisinthe or should we just go to all three?

I cannot comment on Dunham nor Abisinthe since I have never been, but I have seen Penn and Teller twice and if there was someone I was with who never seen them, I would see them again.

We saw Absinthe last month, it was one of the best shows I've seen in Vegas.

It sounds like Dunham will also be in Vegas for awhile. Otherwise I would probably say him since the other 2 will definitely be there for awhile. The one I actually did see, Penn and Teller, was great! But the closer you can get to the stage, the better for some of the "close up magic". Penn also does sprinkle a lot of Libertarian commentary through it, but I didn't mind since my view is close to his. We also ran out of the theater and got a pic with Penn with nearly no wait!

If you don't have the time to see all three I'd go to Absinthe. Very different and you are very close. It's also hilarious at times.

I've seen Penn & Teller several times. Very good show but if you've seen them on TV you've seen the show. Pretty much the same comment with Dunham although his material changes more often than P&T's.

I was also wondering if I will have trouble getting discounted tickets in Vegas since I will be their from NYE to January 6th. Should I risk this or buy tickets from home with high fees?

I would think Jan. 2nd-6th would be easy to get discounted tickets. Isn't Vegas pretty dead after NYE? I may be wrong though.

I've seen Absinthe and P&T, I've watched Dunham's various Comedy Central shows. I'd recommend all 3 if I saw none. If I could only see one of the 2 that I've seen I'd choose Absinthe because it is nothing like anything I've seen.

For those that have seen Absinthe more than once does it change much?

To go to Abisenth and Dunham since it doesn't seem like there are any Penn & Teller seats up close when I am there.

Could you explain to me how is P&T show? Is like a magician show. Have you ever seen David Copperfield? If yes which one did you prefer?

I never saw Copperfield other than on TV. P&T has a comedy aspect to it. More edgy than what I saw of DC on tv (gore and putting themselves, mostly Teller, in dangerous situations) Also social commentary aspects as well. They are libertarians and you can pick up on the tones, but they are not overly political in their show. They debunk myths in their magic, expose frauds. I like their act a lot.

    Absinthe

Best show I've seen that's still playing.

Danny Gans may have been my favorite but it's close.

P&T is a lot of Penn talking.. and some magic. Honestly, I didn't like it, or understand half the tricks. If you want pure ~magic, see Copperfield.

I haven't seen Absinthe. I'm interested, but it's never on sale haha.. also I don't like the idea of being crammed in tiny seats in a tent for $100+ even if the show is excellent.
