    Hi all,

in your experience, is it better to choose the direct prize or play the free spins when you hit lets say 30+ free spins?
Or would this be the same result in the end?

    Once again

I don't think there is a difference it's more of a personal preference. When I get the bonus I tend to take the prize rather than the spins unless I'm on a challenge on mobile where I am looking to get 3-4-5 of a kind. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. its' all the luck of the draw essentially.

That's an excellent question and I hope others weigh in too.

I used to take the free spins. When the Montelago Casino was open at Lake Las Vegas I once hit it filling the screen with the yin/yang symbols nearly completely, missing just the far right column, bottom row. I don't remember how many that was. It hit several times after that and I totaled up over 800 spins. I never even thought to look at what the direct prize was. Playing max bet on that penny machine was 150 credits my payout was about $1150, just missing a W2-G.

A month or so ago I was playing a 300 credit similar machine at Aria. I didn't hit nearly the number of games - 120 or so. I looked at the direct prize - ranged between $150 and $1080. It gave me the $1080!

I play these machines - usually only the jumbos - but now take the direct prize only when it hits for more than 16 spins and it seems to give me either the max direct or close to it more often than the minimum, which I've gotten only once or twice.

People deride the pennies. I'm actually ahead long term on them and get several W2-G's a year to prove it along with careful tax records. I do prefer $5/$10 and $25 slots but somedays the big slots aren't with you.

direct prize. i've won 20 million and 6 million from it. you have to have alot of free games though. i think for the 20 million hit i had 120 something free games (was betting 30k or 60k per spin).

I hit a 48 mil payout taking the prize over the spins (143) ..
In my opinion China mystery and lotus have the largest payouts by far

First thing I would say is: both options can go either way. I've taken the free spins and even with 200-ish spins gotten next to nothing... I've also taken the credits and wound up being totally robbed, like getting just a couple of credits over the minimum.

If I get a small number of free spins I always take the credits: the game has a pretty high variance and in order to see the upper end of the prize scale you need a couple of really big wins and usually you need more spins to get there, to ride it out, to hit a huge win.

If I get a large number of free spins I will usually take some free spins and see how it goes... if its going good then I will ride it out, if its just giving me a beating then I will push that "Balance of Fortune" button and look at the new offer and maybe take the rest in credits.
