Hey, I'm new here so if I'm making a terrible faux pas by posting twice I hope you'll forgive! I realized after posting on the nightlife board that this board might be more appropriate.......

The Strip is all glitz and glamour now and we're sad to see Bill's Gamblin' Hall gone. I know Big Elvis has moved to Harrah's and we'll catch him there. But does anyone else know of some good cheesy lounge acts at casinos on the Strip or Downtown? Looking for free or cheap. My husband is a musician and we love good music as well. Seems so much is geared for younger people, we're 50 so we're not looking for a young crowd. Any ideas? (Someone on the Nightlife board suggested the Motown show at Orleans which sounds like EXACTLY what I'd love, but we prob won't have a car so it might not work.)

The more washed up, fashionable-for-the-seventies, cheezwhizzy the better, as far as we're concerned! Extra points if the singer is perpetually drunk. Thanks!

Your post made me think of he greatest concentration of cheesy acts, perhaps downtown. Then I had to sort them and it came to me like a light from above.

Challenge to the board - The guy who plays electric sax on Fremont Street has to be the Cheesiest act in Vegas.

I did a Christmas video using one of his songs last year, featuring visuals by Jaymes Vaughan and the cast of Rio Show in the Sky:

Surely you are not referring to Carl "Safe Sax" Ferris? Oh my heart!

Without a doubt, Cook E. Jarr. Last I heard he was at Bill's on weekends.

Totally agree the cheesiest act in Las Vegas is old Cook E Jarr. He is now playing Wed 3-6PM and Sun 6-8PM.

    Where'd Cook E. Jarr go?

We missed him last time around. Any idea where he'll be now that Bill's is closing?

Harrah's Court. I think only weekends? I also think we went to hear Big Elvis at Harrah's over Thanksgivings? Piano bar inside the door. Good times and dates seem to run together.

Note: Big Elvis took Thanksgiving off but we still enjoyed Chuck.
