I would like to know if anyone else has done this before. I have Imperial Palace booked for 7 days. However, if i wanted to check out a day earlier, can I do this and if I do, is there a chance I get a refund for the last night?

I read online that some hotels will allow this though not its not a casino hotel like in vegas and they will charge you a early check out fee.

Does anyone know if strip casinos like IP will charge for early checkout? Does it also depend if its Imperial Palace or if its some upscale hotel casino like Wynn?

Someone mentioned this is possible but one has to do it at least 72 hours in advance so if one stays for 7 nights and want to leave after 6 nights... then one has to tell them by the 4th night. Is this correct?

I also read in this forum that someone mentions if you want to check out early its a $50 fee? Well obviously i won't do this as my last night is around $60 if thats the case. But i would like to know this in the near future if i need to.

If you booked through the hotel or casino marketing I don't know why not.
But if you booked through expedia or other site then I do not think so.

Usually if you book through a hotel then you may have to give a first night deposit but not pay the whole amt.

They won't give you a refund, but I have never heard of anyone being charged. I never went into a room at the Flamingo last time, rented it just to have the pool for the day. I tossed the key in the return 3 hours later and I was never charged anything extra.

I had a reservation at Bally's throught Jetblue vacations that the terms stated would charge a fee for early deoarture. I don't know if they charge it or merely threaten to, but I imagine as long as you check out after the official checkout time you coukd argue that anything beyond that time was your extra "night".

In this case (ATOM), you do NOT check out. You just leave, with the do not disturb sign on the door.

Back to George in the original post... You really are asking two different questions.
    a) Can I get some money back if I opt for 6 days vs 7 days. This can vary widely, but usually you will have to give advance notice, just like booking any nights in Vegas.

    and

    b) Will they charge extra? As long as they think you are just doing the original reservation, no extra charge. But, you do pay for the last night.

We usually overlap our stays and checkout by simply dropping the card in the express checkout boxes. Use DND signs and you shouldnt be charged. Now, can you get a refund? Not sure, I guess it doesn't hurt to call and ask.

I'm so glad you posted this, OP. I'm planning on doing this in September, too.

If you know now, just have them drop the last day and get your $60 back.

If you're unsure if you'll want the room for that last day, keep it. As others have stated, don't check out. Just leave when you want with the DND tag on the door. If you are doing room charges, make sure that you have the credit card on file that you want to use and review your charges with the TV or front desk before you physically leave. They will automatically check you out and charge the card on file on the day of check-out when housekeeping comes to clean the room (they have a list of check-outs).

The only negative that I've found is if you're concerned about future offers. Your play will be divided by 7 days instead of 6. Therefore, if you know that you only need 6 nights and hope to have a future offer, you're better off dropping the last night.
