Our flight is scheduled to land at 5:40pm on 3/20 (the Wednesday before the full slate of March Madness games start) So we will be be downtown by 6:30pm. I double booked at the Plaza and the Cal. My buddies are taking my Plaza room for first 2 nights and I am taking the Cal. Then they are moving different hotel and I am moving to the Plaza.

Since I have to check in at both hotels, I am trying to do figure a plan to do the check ins as efficiently as possible. Which hotel has a shorter/quicker check in line? I will go to that one 1st.

Also I've never stayed at the Cal. Any room suggestions for a "better" room?

I stayed at the Plaza last year. Not sure which tower we got last year, but we had to take the elevators near the sports book. This year they gave us strip view rooms. Is the strip view rooms in the "better" tower? Which tower would you choose?

The south tower is by the race/sports book.

Strip view rooms are in the south tower but on the south side of the tower. The other side of this tower is the pool view rooms.

Personally, I prefer the south tower because we play the horses and once you get off of the elevator, you're literally steps away from the book.

If you have a car, the south tower is also steps away from the parking garage.

Many people prefer the north tower though.

Best of luck to you and remember that updated trip reports bring you lots of good karma.
