I realize this is a very general question, but in your experiences which group of resorts treats their customers better and has better service and attitude from the staff. Thanks.

IMHO, MGM has much better customer service than Caesars. This includes both dealers and hotel staff(whom are the two groups I interact with most).

However, on average MGM rooms are more pricey than Caesars and so are their restaurants.

So, in general I wind up staying at Caesars properties but play at MGM properties. The offers I get from Caesars are still better than what I get from mlife. But that's another story, and I'm no high roller, so.... It does make sense to me.

I find customer service to be pretty much similar. Both companies have some bad dealers/staff, and both have plenty of great dealers and workers.

I prefer MGM because I just find their casinos and hotels to be much nicer in general.

Part of the "valuation" would vary depending on your play, eat and spending levels. Overall,I would rate MGM slightly higher, but that may not be your best choice.

You may want to share a bit more about yourself. I would also scroll down through postings from the past month as this topic is discussed often.

I've gotten generally good customer service at both sets of properties, although its been awhile since I stayed at an mLife resort.

The worst experience was probably Caesars, but that is more corporate policies being annoying than the staff, almost all of whom were very nice.

Other than that, I've stayed at Monte Carlo, PH, IP, Harrah's, and Bally's, and the customer service was great for me at all of them.

My short answer: For low rollers such as ourselves I'd say we got much more love and consistent customer service from CET than from MGM.

    Here's the long answer:

IMHO We've had very mixed customer experience with MGM properties. For the longest time we were getting great offers and about half the time would encounter MGM service personel who gave us the feeling that we weren't worthy. And often times we'd think "well maybe our play isn't worthy" only to have additional items comped on check out above our up-front offer. These two things seem mutually exlusive. The level of hotels and dining options we felt were superior at MGM and for years we bounced around between MGM Grand, Mirage, Mandalay, NYNY, and Monte Carlo. That being said, after a break from Vegas while my wife finished her Masters we came back to find that the balance of good/bad service experiences with MGM seemed to shift to the bad and our offers were terrible even after a couple of trips (mind you there were several Beau Rivage trips thrown in there to).

So we've started trying out Caesars properties. On our last trip I spent 2 nights at Planet Hollywood and 2 nights at Caesars (all comp). The PH rooms were nice although we had to change twice (first right away because it was an accessable room and had a funky shower and the second time because our non smoking room reaked of smoke on our second day. FYI, the rep told me that although the rooms are non-smoking, they allow smoking in the hallway :confused2:). The customer service there was great however as was that at Caesars. And the room at Caesars (Forum tower) was as good as any of our MGM rooms. We are reluctant to try some of the other properties (Harrahs, Flamingo, Paris) but I intend to do so in an attempt to become a primarily CET player. Oh, and we also decided the PHo isn't really for us. It caters too much to the young hip-hop crowd and I begrudgingly admit we are too old for that. When music being pumped into the casino is too loud then you are at risk of being bothered if it isn't your kind of music.

    Thanks.....

Thanks for the responses. I appreciate all your input. I'm thinking of either Mirage or Caesars and can't really make up my mind.

Customer service for me has been great at either set of properties. I have only encountered one unsmileable person at a CET prop in all my stays.

Comps for me are always better at CET props & I am very comfortable there, so I continue to stay there.

I don't think you would go wrong with either choice. And remember - someone, somewhere is always having a bad day. Just cross your fingers & hopefully you won't encounter them.

I will say that by far the most outstanding customer service both my bff & I received of any property was at the Sahara on two different trips. I miss the old girl.

I feel the exact same way. I like mlife properties better but the deals I get from CET are way better and therefore I stay with them. Some weeks I can get 5 nights comped at Ceasars, my best mlife offer to date is 3 comped nights at Excalibur.

I've had much better luck at MGM resorts over the years. Also just by visiting, the MGM resorts are kept up much better, and they have more high end options. Just look at the parking garages in Paris and Flamingo, disgusting! Also I had a noise problem at PH last year, and it took a while to get that resolved, and this year they left cleaning supplies in our room.. and I thought it was pretty tacky they didn't even have bedspreads anymore, just ratted up brown blankets. I think my problems are more specific with PH though. I've stayed at Paris numerous times without problem.

I'm not high roller so I can't really say much about the programs. But, I personally enjoy gambling at MGM properties more, most of the resorts have larger casinos.

For me, almost every trip is about getting the best room, at the best deal possible and MGM usually wins. I feel like I rarely see a deal at PH or Paris and NEVER Caesars. But, I get like 10 a week from Monte Carlo, MGM and Mandalay.

The only thing I do like more about CET is they have the shopping. No trip for me is complete without shopping at PH or Caesars.

My recent experience with CET has left much to be desired. The employees are always polite and I think do try to be helpful, but the corporate policies are what bug me a little bit. The responses have basically been 'We're sorry your upset, but non the less enjoy your stay at Ballys!'. Although I will say this is the first time I've had a reason to complain about CET since 2007. (I may be biased in my current opinion since I'm not getting what I want and they don't seem to be concerned about helping me achieve it)
I'm am going to give MGM properties a shot for the next few years to really get a good comparison, I would recommend that you don't do the same thing I did and stick with just CET exclusively. Its a good idea to have a real life comparison.
