I was Gold and moved to Platinum in the last couple days from being approved for the new Visa card. I checked room rates when I was still Gold and would have been charged resort fees. I checked the same room, same date yesterday and as Platinum it shows that the resort fee would be waived.

Oh - good to know. I booked the rooms when I was still gold, so the res said I was responsible for the resort fees, but I wasn't charged on my credit card. No fees would be nice.

No, I haven't received the card yet - just noticed when I went into the TR website today that I'm listed as Platinm.

Great...that's good to hear. A big benefit to this card in my opinion.

Yeah, I got that apology email too. Wonder how many Canadians called in to apply?

    I received a reply:

It is my pleasure to assist you with your Tier Status inquiry. In regard to your Total Rewards Visa, your Tier Status will be automatically upgraded within 30 days of receiving your credit card. Reward Credits earned through the use of the Total Rewards Visa card will be credited to your account within 5 business days. As such, it will take about 5 business days to receive the 10,000 Reward Credits after you spend $750.

In response to your reservation inquiry, you do not have to change the credit card you reserved your room with. However, you are welcome to contact our Casino Customer Service Department prior to your arrival to see if the rates have gone down and change your reservation. They can be reached by calling 1-866-523-2762. I hope this information was helpful to your planning

Don't fall for this. I signed up for this card 2 years ago and never was able to get it linked to my players card points. I called TR and they said I had to talk to the credit card people. I called them, they said talk to TR. I tried for 6 months to no avail.

I called the Flamingo to book a limo ride from McCarran to the property and pay with my Total Rewards points. TotalRewards.com says that I have 7,221 points but the operator at the call center said that I show zero. What gives?

I emailed TR asking about the fact that I was now platinum, and would I be charged resort fees. I received a response that I would not be charged, since I was platinum. Good News. Of course I am printing out that email and taking it with me - just in case.

I received my card today. Normal info in letter. Call to activate, limit amount, interest rate if balanced carried. Also instructions for redeeming Buffets of Buffets. You visit Total rewards center. Buffet offer expires 6 months after getting card. Valid for 2 individuals. Must redeem together:licklips:

Not sure, but some funky stuff does happen with TR points.

A couple of times I've gone to use points at a Cafe at Caesars Windsor and the first time they run the card I think it shows points only from that trip to Caesars Windsor ... but if they run it again it shows as authorized.

Never had that problem in Vegas, but then again never spent TR points on more than a buffet here or there.

Sent a message to them on Twitter, and they gave me a link to state my case. Here's hoping.

I got the card in the mail yesterday and there is a piece of literature that states the Buffet of Buffets offer is only good for six months from the month you receive the card. To be safe, you might want to wait a few weeks until May to redeem so you have until November to redeeem.

In the fine print it also states that an extra fee for the Caesars and Rio buffets applies so if you are interested in hitting those buffets you will have to pay the additional cost per person in order to add them to the offer.

I'll be there on the 27th so I figure the 2nd week of May should be good.

No card, still showing Gold status, and my trip is in 6 days. Oh well, guess those rewards will have to be for a future trip. Maybe with a little luck I'll be able to at least get the buffets this trip!
