If you charge meals, etc to your room at a CET property, does the TC register when you made the transaction or does everything accrue at checkout? Just wondering how that would work in getting the bonuses for earning 500/1000/2500 TCs in a day.

I was told you had to pay at point of sale to get TCs. It may be worth a customer service inquiry. However, I don't think TCs earned that way count for the bonuses.

I am not 100% sure, but I think all bonuses are tied to gambling.

Good point, I'll have to check with the TR desk. The MLife desk told me to charge everything to the room, since not all the resturants would credit MLife direct, could be different with CET.

I got the bonus one day when I'm pretty sure I wasn't near the threshold, but did eat at Gordon Ramsey's Steakhouse, so I figured the rip cap put be over the top!

    From the TR website:

Note: Reward Credits are awarded based on cash or credit card purchases only. Items that are comped or purchased using Quick Rewards are not eligible. Your Total Rewards card must be presented at the time of purchase.

    Hospitality spend credit posting:
    - Purchases (ie pay at point of purchase) made at participating outlets will post 3 days after purchase
    - Hotel Folio charges will post 10 days after check-out (Total Rewards number must be listed on reservation)
Reward Credit and Tier Credit earnings:

    $1 Hospitality spend = 1 Reward Credit

    $1 Hospitality spend = 1 Tier Credit

Tier Credit are earned through gambling only. What you earn when you pay for food, etc. are Reward Credit.

Actually, you receive 1 tier credit for every $1 spent at CET hotels, restaurants and shopping locations. See here.

"Earn 1 Tier Credit for every $1 spent on hotel accommodations."
"Earn 1 Tier Credit for every $1 spent at any of our participating restaurants."
"Earn 1 Tier Credit for every $1 spent at participating retail outlets."

You also earn reward credits at the same rate for the same spends.

Tier credits for hotel rooms, meals, etc. don't count toward the tier credit bonus thresholds, especially since they aren't credited on the day of purchase. The bonuses are tied to your play.

Interesting -- Did not know this, I was under the assumption that you only earned RCs. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for that, all this time I thought it was only gambling as well.

I think this is new this year, or maybe last year. Used to be only RC's on those things.

I would think that you get it when they actually get paid and not the time of transaction since you can always use your rc points to pay your account at checkout - they don't give credit if you use your points to pay.

If charged to the room, it CAN NOT post to tier until you checkout. After all, they do not know if you are going to pay with cash, credit card or Reward Credits until you do it. And, I would assume they are not going to give you tier credits for something that is "comped" via RCs.
