Multiple people on X are reporting that Caesar’s has eliminated the 4 free drinks daily for people who primarily earned their Diamond Plus from poker or sports betting. Apparently there’s 500-1,000 people playing poker almost daily using the free drinks and casinos just don’t make much from the poker room. Would make more sense if they just made it more difficult to earn points in those areas.

I did see that, I hate it when companies retroactively take benefits away without notice.

That's a vague twitter post....there was another thread on VMB about 1 location at each property being dropped from offering comped drinks. I wonder if this is what VitalVegas is referring to???

Looks like Tom wants to share his "butt kicking" to his guests. As of May 1, sport app and poker players that earned Diamond+ status that way are losing their four drink privileges. Reports from X, FB and this forum.

Is it true what has been posted on Twitter that CET is no longer giving four comp drinks a day to some Diamond plus players? First Laurel Lounges and now this? Both without notice.

Diamond is a real nothing burger for status. I have heard from several people that bc diamond really means nothing, that Caesar's will be charging diamond's resort and parking fees next year. If you want drinks- play and you will still get them for free or just go to the bar and buy it. People sound so entitled around here!

It was a stated benefit they removed mid year. Pretty terrible. Doesn’t affect me and not surprised but still something that should be done before the earning period ends.

This doesnt surprise me at all. I imagine the majority of the poker players who fall into this category play at Caesars, sit there and fold, occasionally playing one hand, and use their 4 drink tickets at Starbucks, which is costing CET more than if they used them at a bar.

This was my experience on my January trip for the "daytime" regs anyway. They all had Starbucks cups.

I don't think that's the issue. People have options of where to play and if they choose to play at a property to obtain the marketed benefits, then they should reap those benefits. They should not earn the benefits and then lose the reward after they put in the spend. That said, I'm not sure there isn't more to this story and the benefit isn't actually lost, but just modified. Time will tell.

Doing it this way just seems like they’re going to make it more confusing for their front line staff. It would make more sense to just make it to a diamond elite/seven stars benefit.

The intent wasn't to give people 4 free drinks every day with no additional play. People have used it that way and at least they are only going after some of them. This is not a tier benefit, but a local Vegas benefit and its being adjusted cause Vegas numbers are down and some people are abusing the benefit. Its likely more people that have used this benefit to milk it for free drinks are sports bettors/poker players. Its also possible that slot/table players that earned it and are just burning them every day could be also targeted. I have 2 friends that moved to Vegas years ago and live off poker. One of them just after this benefit was added was picking up 4 large Fiji waters a day and only drinking 1 of them. He eventually had a wall of Fiji waters in his garage.
Not really. The bars/venues will just see no vouchers in the system and assume they didn't have any. The rewards desk folks should be able to see that they are being denied them, or they'll just act like they have no idea what's going on.

The thing is it's not that Poker players or sports bettors are abusing the drinks, it's that local Poker players and sports bettors are abusing the drinks. The amount of TC multipliers that are being offered means that the amount of free drink potential has increased massively, and what many of these locals will do now is play VP on multiplier days to reach the requirement and continue to abuse the drinks.

I would not be surprised at all to see the daily free drinks removed entirely and 1 or maybe 2 Laurel Lounges reopen. It would certainly cost CET a lot less to serve free drinks and food for 2 hours a day in an inconvenient location (Ballys ex Spa location) than give every Diamond+ who earned it up to $100 value of drinks daily.

Yes. (sports app and poker players ). Move over David Copperfield and Penn & Teller, The Amazing Tom is the Greatest Magician on the Strip. It's all disappearing:
Shows, spas, lounges, buffets, Adele (for awhile), now vouchers and finally (as of the first quarter) Customers.

Caesars made it to easy to earn their various tiers of Diamond, devalued Diamond as a status, created an over saturation and are now realizing people are abusing their system.

There is very little value in CET rewards outside of the stated benefits, so how did they not expect people to take advantage of it?

Eh. I'm sure there are worse out there. He did it more as a joke to see how long it would take for CET to cut him off, but they didn't and he gave up after a year.

Have we heard this ANYWHERE ELSE except from Vital Vegas (and from people forwarding/copying/commenting on the Vital Vegas posts)?

I get that a dozen posts above all say that that they have seen the chatter, but if the Vital Vegas post is Ground Zero... do we actually know how much (or to what extent) any of it is true?

Texted my poker player friends in Vegas to see, but they actually play VP and some slots every now and then. Lots of times reports recently from sports bettors getting cut off are ones that don't gamble at all at the casino and just use benefits.
