Hey there, I've been offered online check-in before as well as the current trip. Has anybody used this and doesn't that rule out any chance for an upgrade? Please discuss.

I have never used it at a CET property, but have used it in other hotels. You check in remotely so when you arrive your keys are waiting for you. Your room has already been assigned before you get to the property. Unless when checking in online their is an upgrade option, you won't get an upgrade.

Exactly. This comes up in threads every couple weeks. The general consensus is that the whole point of online check-in is that you're walking up to the desk, getting your keys, and being on your way. Being able to negotiate the room type would just slow things down and defeat the purpose. If you're looking for some sort of upgrade, then I wouldn't check in online.
