Thanks for the update westie, will be interesting to see if this is a "short term" or permanent change.

I also read that the Tropical Breeze Cafe is closing in Feb. No mention yet if anything going new into that space to replace. It was always a decent spot for breakfast when staying @ Flamingo.

Not surprised; they have kept raising prices, food was average. Too many other options for lunch, with all the food courts opening.

This may impact some who usually buy the buffet of buffets.....

The change at Harrahs has been in place since at least November when we were last down. Can't speak to the other locations though.

That mean my observation that LVA is always late with news may be accurate.

At any rate. I think this is an interesting development. Maybe the reaction from the public to the strip buffets is go big or go home. I never had a problem with Flavors but I also hadn't been motivated to go back there in a good while either. I think a better move would have been to relaunch one and close the other.

Anyone buying buffet of buffets shouldn't be eating at Flamingo anyway from what I read. And they did the 7a-2p thing at the IP/Quad before they closed it for good. Harrah's is passable but not great. Sorta sad to see this...CET looks to be cutting a lot of fat off now.

In another thread I remarked that they had reduced the space at the Rio buffet. They actually walled off an area which had two steam tables, kind of to the northeast of the hoity-toity sit-down area. They also appear to be closing and demolishing the rear Diamond entrance (which they did let us lowly Plats use) and replaced it with a Diamond/Platinum line at the main buffet entrance.
