I'll be staying at Bally's late March and I'm wondering whether I can use my Verizon hotspot or not? At Rio it worked fine, but at Wynn the signal was poor and it was difficult to use the internet.

I'm Platinum with TR so I should be able to decline the resort fee (though my reservation is third party).

Verizon here, no problems at Bally's

The only place I've ever noticed shitty service was Elara, man that place sucked. But then again I try to stay off my phone as much as possible in Vegas.

I know that it's just my imagination, but Las Vegas used to have a reputation of having the worst land line telephone service int the U.S. - a fact that I could verify after attempting numerous call from pay phones and hotel phones over the years.

After my last couple of trips (also Verizon) I'm about to conclude that their cell service is about the same. (Maybe it was just the hotels, or whatever, but a couple of times on our last trip my wife and I abandoned the phone entierly and just uses SMS text.)

We've stayed at Bally's a number of times and my wife, who also uses a Verizon hot spot, had no complaints.

As a Canadian who uses Telus, when I'm in Vegas I roam onto AT&T. I've almost never ever had more than half bars anywhere on the strip, with the exception of the airport (which isn't really on the strip I know). It's almost like the casinos block your cell signal so as to not distract you from gaming. Although that would be highly illegal, to block a signal like that.

Sprint Customer here. Stayed at Flamingo this past week. HORRID service in the room itself, but it was decent pretty much everywhere else we went.

Also, Platinum and Diamond players do not pay resort fees, but do NOT get complimentary internet access either. I had this discussion with the folks in the Diamond registration during my stay.

I plan to use my iPhone hotspot in place of the Wifi.

My worry now is that Bally's will try to stick with me the resort fee because my reservation is through a third party. Though I'm hoping if I check in at the Platinum line they will waive it.

I am an Amazon seller so I need access 24/7. I have found Sprint to be terrible with LTE in vegas. I have found turning off 4g on sprint makes hotspots somewhat useable for basic browsing.

The best signal and LTE speeds I have found are with tmobile in vegas.
Just incase anyone else is connected 24/7

I guess you never had Verizon. I have Verizon and my g/f has T-Mobile, and I consistently have better service than her within casinos (Vegas and other casinos nationwide). But from your room, either should be satisfactory though in Vegas.

I never thought Verizon was anything special until I actually got a smartphone. Now their exorbitant prices make more sense.

Seems like cell reception is a problem with high floors with me. Had that problem with Verizon at TI, Wynn, Palazzo, Rio. Down low, worked fine.

Used my Verizon hotspot at Ballys a few weeks ago. Plenty of 4g strength.

I don't know about 4G, since I don't have a Smartphone, but I had no problem with reception at Bally's last year on the Sprint network.
