CDS via MLife or Ticketmaster?

The first time I saw O I booked well in advance through ticketmaster and obviously selected what seat I wanted right away when booking.

When I saw Zarkana I booked same day at the box office at Aria, and again, had choice of seat.

I just booked Zumanity through MyVegas, also painless and had choice of seat.

I want to see O again because I loved it that much. Has anyone booked any CDS shows through MLife online? Is there any advantage to booking through MLife instead of ticketmaster? How does MLife assign seats? Obviously where I sit matters to me, and on the day I want to go there's a seat I want currently showing available on ticketmaster.

    Thanks in advance :)

Are you staying at a MGM resort? When I went to MJ one i looked online, but decided to call the casino VIP to book. The tickets i got calling were a bit cheaper and the best seats in the house. They charged them to my room.

Yes. I am staying at Aria. But I have no real history with MGM resorts and I'm a very low roller. That said I'd love to be able to charge them to the room & use it to build up some mlife points.

Try calling VIP services at Aria. Just tell then the show you want and the date and see if they can help.

If you book online on MLife, it doesn't tell you anything about where your seats are. Until it does (and it probably never will) I wouldn't use it. I have no idea how they actually assign seats, but there's no reason to leave it up to chance.

If you use Ticketmaster, you will need to go through a bunch of rigamarole to get Tier Credits for the purchase.

The best way to buy tickets for any MGM show is to call the box office at the hotel. The Bellagio web site lists two numbers for its box office 888.488.7111 or 702.693.8866. The 888 number looks like it's actually the box office (vs Ticketmaster - if you call that number and it's Ticketmaster, hang up). The 702 number is definitely the Bellagio box office.

When you call the box office, you will be able to select specific seats, I have always found that the MGM box offices will apply any discount code (like Travelzoo) that you happen to find, and you will get Tier Credits within a couple of days.

If Ticketmaster has any advantage, it's that you might be able to print your tickets as soon as you buy them (I did this for Absinthe, but I don't know if the download/print option is available for CDS/MGM shows). If you buy through the box office, you have to do Will Call and might have to pick them up by a certain amount of time prior to the show, like an hour or something.

You can charge tickets to your room, but not until you're there, obviously. The benefit of charging to your room is that you might get them comped back end (but you say you're a low roller), but the downside is you are probably not going to have as good a selection of seats if you wait until you're there. You'll get Tier Credits if you charge to the room, but you'll also get them if you buy through the box office (just don't forget to give them your MLife number).

A million thank yous! I so appreciate you sharing your experiences and recommendations. Seems like booking through the mlife website is definitely not the way to go, and making a phone call or two may be. Thanks bunches. :)

100% agree with Dutchvelvet. Use VIP services. You will need an mlife number, but if you have that you can get the best seats in the price range you are interested in for about 20% less. This is how we ended up in the snow zone for MJ ONE which was an amazing experience.
