I will be going to Vegas for my first time in October. I was wondering which company or hotel has the best return rate on comps. I will never play enough to get any type of room comp, but what about a meal comp, or money towards a meal or buffet. Are certain Casinos better then others? Do the rewards carry over to sister hotels (Do Mandalay Bay, Luxor, and Excalibur all combine their comp points?) Thanks for any info!

Hi Trust, Mlife doesn't combine comp points (i.e. you played x amount at ALL Mlife properties, so we're comping x, that's done based on each hotel's play. They do combine tier points though. (Though you can get corporate offers for future trips.)

On low-play/small bankroll comps, Monte Carlo was GREAT to us on comps when we first started, and has a great location. Make sure to always use your card, and just swing by the mlife desk before checkout and ask if you've won any extra comps. (Remember, they can only apply it to room charges, not bills you've paid directly to a CC).

Also, sign up for mlife and book the room through mlife, you'll get better rates on the Mlife site, but know rates are always changing. If too high one day, just keep checking back.

P.S. never presume you won't get a room comp. (Unless you're like my mom and bring $60 gambling money for a 5 day trip!) I played $250 budget money (not coin-in...money cycled through machines, coin in was higher) at Aria years ago, and came home to a 3 night comp offer---including weekends. I still can't figure out how that happened, but they let me redeem it, and it's been my go-to hotel ever since. Smart hotel, that 3 night comp won WAY more play from me on follow up trips, but it was still a gamble on their end offering it to me, I'm still impressed! But, in all fairness, I was a Monte Carlo regular, and they DO tend to like to poach MC guests. :)

Its funny though, MC is GREAT for low budget comps, but ironically, they don't seem to match the higher-end comps that Aria gives for higher play. I spent more at MC than Aria on my last trip, but received a better comp package at Aria! For lower-play comps though, MC is one of the best in my book.
